Chud here, I don’t like it. Don’t like anything about cowboys and indians, what a gay aesthetic

Chuds and Redditors love this book. It's the one thing they can both agree with.

started it three days ago and 60 percent through, would recommend, very edgy though sometimes laughably so

This is one of reddit's favorite books. Read the first 70 pages and only continue if you like it. It gets repetitive after a while.

I guess it won't hurt, it just seemed like a IQfy book.

It is a IQfy book, it's on every top list. It's great you should read it for sure.

it's also a reddit book, thus, it's a mainstream book.

Of course it’s a mainstream book, it was acclaimed before Reddit and Chan were even a thing and was published in 85. This isn’t like your meaningless music fads, lit is eternal.

Acclaimed by some literary critics. But it became mainstream among the general audience until 2017 or so when Reddit, well, read it.

That's revisionist bullshit. Blood meridian was arguably the lest popular during this period from 2016-2018 as can be seen from its sliding rankings on our charts and the massive influx of reddit tourists here. You are a newbie who doesn't know shit.

Redditanon here, with well over 300k karma from posting on the mainline books subreddits. I can assure you BM is by no means a Reddit book. Its rarely discussed on the popular books subs, I would wager for every one BM post that comes up there are at least 100 Infinite Jest posts and probably 500 Tolkien posts.

Corncob is a pretty mainstream author and the book has only gained more notoriety in the past couple years I especially feel like leading up to Mccarthy's death the book's fanbase has gotten even more toxic and incredibly smug and self aware of it self but that aside it's a good book and you should read it just avoid anything to do with the fandom and pretend it doesn't exist.

I just finished it, I'd call it a jumbled acid trip of unnecessary violence, an endless slog of faceless nameless characters through very well described mud. You ever watch movies from the 70's where you can tell the director was on some weird drugs and nothing makes sense? This book is like that. I stopped in the middle of a Cory Doctorow binge to read it and I wish I hadn't.
