IQfyx being a botnet is a meme, low IQ meme and in reality using that circumvents every single bit of javascript from IQfy, you run open source code that you can check and parasitize their servers for the data

Your browser has tools that can be used to traverse any code, step by step.
There are tools available online that can take obfuscated javascript and make it human readable.
            Why are you on IQfy?

            >Your browser has tools that can be used to traverse any code, step by step.
Your computer has tools that can do the same to any binary. Yet that doesn't make it count as source.
And there are tools online to take compiled binaries and make them "human readable" (decompilers are a thing). They are all very imperfect, and it - rightfully - still doesn't count as source.

We are talking about IQfy, though, stupid homosexuals. It isn't obsfucated. It is clear and open.

It's still minified. Someone wrote the code using normal names, then passed it through an enfricker, and now that it's been fricked you have to read var e, t, a, i, n, o, r, s, d, l, c;.
Yes you CAN do it but it's needlessly obtuse. It's not how it was written; there does exist a proper, readable source, but you can't get it.

I don't want to switch to it because I have coded myself years ago some of the extra features it has over regular IQfyX. Even though the code is likely worse it works and it's mine, and if I ditch it for some pre made stuff then all the time I spent doing it will have been wasted for nothing.

          >You can judge me if you want.
...i used 2.5.2 for a good while, and i don't remember exactly why but i came to conclusion that it was flimsy. exact same config with a few of the extra features enabled. i THINK it was something about the archive retrieval feature not working half the time AND conflicting with gh0stp0stmix3r

XT refuses to display the setting icons for Oneechan and Sounds Player, it just shows the name of the script.

Because XT doesn't include the entire font awesome anymore, you'll need custom css for icons for other scripts. See https://github.com/TuxedoTako/IQfy-xt/issues/28#issuecomment-1922881472

I swear half the IQfy X screenshots I see around have oneechan installed as well, how can it be considered "bloat" to break the top bar to them
I mean, oneechan users are literally your target and you're asking them to use what you're forking in the first place

yea it's odd especially when they advertise it in the readme

        >modern browsing experience
non-modern feel is part of the appeal tbh

      Anonymous

For me, the features that really make a difference are
      a) proper hover support - especially for webms, you can actually play them with mouse hover, if you hover off it pauses, come back and it resumes; and
      b) clicking on replies nests them - makes it easy to read through a long reply chain and then go back to reading where you left off in the thread, whereas on vanilla IQfy you'd have to click "back" in your browser 10-20 times, but not too many or you'll leave the thread and go back to the catalog
      c) autoscroll to last read position makes it very easy to close a thread and then reopen it later to catch up; and on a related note
      d) un-highlighting (You)s once they scroll into view: if a thread has like 150 new posts, but I got a reply that's 3 posts down, on vanilla IQfy I'd have to scroll all the way to the bottom to make the tab go back to the normal icon - this also means I'd have no idea how may (You)s I' had and where they were going to be. With IQfyx I scroll 3 posts down and see the (You) and the tab stops being highlihgted for new (You)s, so I don't have to scroll through the rest. Now combine that with saving my last read position, and I can even close the tab and then come back and catch up to the thread later if I want to.

There's tons of other features, big and small, different people probably use different ones and you might like some that I don't even care about, for example. Or there's smaller ones I sometimes use but haven't mentioned yet, like being able to easily toggle a post as being yours or not, so say if I (rarely) mobilepost something, and then open the thread on my laptop, I can mark it and get (You)s notified on my laptop as well. Or image hover in the catalog. Things like that.

on a related note, why do people who want to make IQfy better on mobile always tunnel vision on making a native phone app? It's a maintenance hell and a ton of unnecessary work as shown by the endless cycle of forking/remaking and abandoning Clover. How come nobody tried to either make a mobile friendly alternative web frontend much like nitter, invidious etc, or simply a userscript like IQfyx that just makes the ui better for mobile. Much easier to develop since you are building on top of IQfy rather than remaking everything from scratch and everything breaking on tiniest IQfy change, also if/when abandoned it's much easier to patch a website/JS project than an android app, you can just easily write a small patch userscript running alongside, you won't get stuck like kuroba that has PR ready but you can't easily apply it without setting up some clusterfrick of java dev tools and rebuilding the project

at this point they literally can't update it anymore.

          >there's 0 incentive, Hiro wouldn't pay for it
          >IQfy users absolutely despise changes; a good chunk of autists would literally stop using the site if the visual change was too dramatic, let alone a full update in terms of functions
          >rewriting the code would likely break dozens of IQfy-related projects (archives, clients, scripts, external viewers/catalogs, mobile apps, scrapers, extensions etc)
          >at this point the early 2000s look is a defining trait, almost a selling point to keep le ebin h4x0r larp alive

IQfy was already old as shit when it launched; it's a clone of a 23 years old site that simply added pics to a site made 25 years ago as a clone of another site that launched 27 years ago, which was just a slight evolution of shit that existed in the early 90s.
