sure it's brilliant and funny but my heart sunk when I first read this. especially when you realise trauma brings with it memory loss and how much norm joked about molestation and shit...

That's what makes it so good. If it were just about anyone else's book, it would still be a pretty dark joke but you wouldn't think the author was ACTUALLY telling you he had been molested. Especially since so much of the book is obvious fabrication. With Norm though, it's hard to tell. Making this part one of the true things in the book is the EXACT type of thing he'd find funny.

Too bad Stephen mentally degraded hard with age, if you read his 70's and 80's stuff it's mostly just one very racist pedophile who understood that the Horror genre is an excuse to write his fetishes under the guise of "building evil characters". Either that or Maine is the worst place on Earth.

Aside from the characters of IT having group sex, can you name one instance of 'pedophilia' or any kind of deviant sexual fetishism at all in King's fiction?
