      No, it is for everyone. Students have an extra 5% off I believe. Barcelona and Madrid are way more expensive.

    That's because getting a driver's license costs you thousands of dollars, your cars are small and shitty and gas is the equivalent of $8 a gallon.

    Id want a cheap alternative to driving too.

    28 euro here, 14 if you're a student, 5.6 if you're a pensioner, handicapped, confirmed pro-Lithuania partisan from a past conflict, or a Finnish citizen(glassed by life at birth).

    But then again, your wages are significantly higher, so I guess technically it's actually a bit cheaper there.

        If they had remembered to leave after "liberating" us, I'm sure they'd be getting a discount too.
        But instead, the actually occupied us before the nazis did, destroyed our constitution, implement a one party system and claimed that nearly 97% of people turned out to vote and voted over 99% in favor for communist takeover, integration into USSR, destruction of constitution and so on... and then re-occupied us after WW2.

        But doesn't matter. I don't think there's any past soviet-partisans left at this point anyhow.
        Heck, even the ones in Russia who are getting discounts because they are from WW2 era should actually be paying extra instead, because they were so small that they were de-facto fighting on the side of nazi Germany, as all they were doing was consuming crucial resources in time of war.

        TLDR;

    • 6 days ago

      Interesting. In most countries the fear is that too few people will take it and thus everyone will opt for cars and lead to massive traffic jams.
      I guess in Netherlands they encourage opting for mopeds and bikes, so even a step further?

        We're overpopulated. So every method of transportation will cause problems if we don't diversify.

      inner city dutch public transit is somewhat overrated
      yes they have a large network and the infrastructure is generally well maintained but they dont run frequently enough at all
      when i was in amsterdam the tram run every 15 minutes, thats just unacceptable for a main line in the biggest city
