Is the screen controller in the screen or in the phone?

I mean will it be fixed if I buy a new screen or am I fricked forever?

        >I mean will it be fixed if I buy a new screen
Most certainly it will. As someone else has said, it's likely a cable problem.

Ok, then I will try to get some tools to open my phone up. Anything I should know before trying?

Be careful not to heat it up too much when softening the glue. Keep in mind that your phone may no longer be waterproof after you open it. Make sure that you get a screwdriver set with a pentalobe bit.

      How fren?
Will it be fixed by replacing the screen?

I don't know. I think in cases like this it could be a cable that has been knocked loose, but the screen itself has parts behind the glass that could also be broken. Does it respond to touch?

          >Does it respond to touch?

That's a good sign. It could just be a cable that got knocked out of place. Can you afford to take it a repair shop?

            what are these meme phones?
my $100 motorola is falling all the time and nothing happens

It can be really random based on how you drop it. Most phones have been reasonably durable for the last ten years. I've dropped my iPhone tons of times and never broken it, but I've seen them fall flat and shatter on the floor. All depends on the velocity and angle of impact.

Screen repairs should be less than $100 for most phones if you're okay with aftermarket parts. If it's just a cable needing to be reseated, ask them to open it up and reseat it. That would probably be less than $75.

We will drop it until it undoes the broken.

That is the optimal way to return it to the unbroken state it was in before

Based, my moto g power (2021) has been dropped on concrete/metal grates countless times. $15 phone case and $8 set of screen protectors and it's invincible.

My Huawei phone's display gets those "contusions" that look like a blob of dead black/greenish pixels where I drop it, but the weird thing is that it auto-heals itself after a few weeks and the screen is as good as new. How does that even work?

If it was any other brand, I'd say it's not too expensive to replace the screen. But Apple's probably going to fricking gouge you. Maybe take this opportunity to jump ship.
