Game controller accessories for phones are universally terrible, and even if they weren't, you deserve to be beaten senseless if you ever use one in public and are older than 12.

I don’t understand the logic here, so, one company tracks your location in order to give network connectivity, then we must give others to allow pushing ads and predictive signals to billions of advertising companies and data brokers with stock android or iOS??? I’m sorry anon but you’re a normie moron, go back.

the yuzu devs were just massive homosexuals that poisoned the well the day they opened their patreon and started charging money for builds, and they were sharing pirated roms and blabbing about it in their trooncord, all of which of course is easily screenshotted. This is why they caved in instead of fighting. Yuzu has been nothing but cancer stealing code and shitting over everything from day 1. But yuzu being run by insufferable gaylords doesn't make emulators illegal.

            >doesn't make emulators illegal
getting sick of this shit. this has been parroted by no-nothing internet armchair lawyers for decades because bleem won a single case 3 decades ago. yuzu is illegal, nintendo set up the switch so that emulating requires some of their copyrighted binaries. that is how they got sued. it is also extremely likely without me bothering to look into each and every one, that several other emulators out there are also illegal. emutards need to kill themselves, their time has come

True. PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, DS, NEC, plenty of them require or highly recommend using a bios dump.

pic is from the court docs
in the case of yuzu it was related to prod.keys. the emus that make you download bios's separate are probably the most legal. the ones that ship with bioss are probably more likely to be doing something illegal. a bunch of this shit is illegal, emutards going 'muh reverse engineering law' can frick off. emushit is stepping through a legal minefield. only reason this shit's not gotten nuked to hell is because shitendo isnt losing as much on their old shit as they were losing on shitch

            Anonymous

The prod.keys are only used for decryption, and you can permanently decrypt the roms with other tools. If shit gets really bad, suyu can survive without being able to decrypt

I will NEVER pay for video games. If emulation dies out I will commit armed robberies and risk prison just to avoid paying a single penny for games.

            Anonymous

I have no problem paying for games, I just don't want to both pay AND get assraped. If I pay for a game it should work flawlessly on Linux and not have Ring 0 rootkits for """my safety""". Fighting piracy only ruins products for paying customers. Piracy should be left alone and the focus should be to improve the experience for paying customers. Piracy is never going away so just ignore it and mark it as a price of business. There's plenty of money up for grabs still.

incorrect, emulating the switch is not illegal. they set the console up such that obtaining decrypted game software requires doing something illegal, from what i can tell, but that's a separate issue to the emulator itself
            >but what's the point of an emulator if you can't run commercial games on it
that's not the emulators' concern, there are legitimate uses, like for example developing your own switch games or running homebrew
            >but that's not how people use it
legally, it doesn't matter, if there were absolutely no legal use for it, maybe it would matter, i don't know, but there is legal ways to use it, so it's a moot point anyway

What people seem to think this means: Open-ended retro game emulators like Snes9x and Dolphin are now allowed. This is not correct.

What the change is actually doing: If you are the licensed publisher of a retro game collection, you can now offer them in one app (including perhaps downloading additional games added to the collection later) instead of splitting them into individual apps. Each game must be individually vouched for.
