      It really is though.
We just have various problems to solve.
But if Apple realize the actual potential and lower the barrier to entry, and keep iterating, they could be the leaders of the non-meme AR market.

I don't think people realize how shitty this is going to make society for anyone who refuses to go along with it.

Any Battlestar Galactica fans here? The world is going to be like the Cylon ship. Completely sterile to outsiders, but the Cylon walk around seeing a jungle, or a beach, or whatever eles they want. Its only a matter of time before people stop investing in making the real world a nice place to be in. I mean why even bother? Why spend $100000 on landscaping or decor? Just buy a Hawaiian beach overlay from Google for $5 and be done with it.

It's a squeeze from the top and bottom.
This moronic shit gets pushed from the top by ever evolving tech, hype and social engineering.
At the same time, society is deliberately made worse.

If anything, this is going to be a simple case of natural selection: people can be digital all they want but it won't help them win in life. The future has never been easier to win.

This shit is never going to receive widespread adoption because it gives women the ick. The reason why smartphones took off is because of Web 2.0 and how it made the internet image-based instead of text-based which made women realize they could take pictures of themselves for attention (which is largely why the sexual marketplace is completely fricked right now, but that's a different topic).

These nerd goggles make you look fricking moronic. An attractive women who spends thousands of dollars on makeup every year is never going to obstruct her face because her beauty is the primary source of her power.

Give it a few generations. It will begin to look sexier with each iteration.

My only issue is the fact that it stops working when moving. What the frick is the point than? I can just pull out my phone and do the same thing. I thought the purpose was to be able to multitask.

These things seem ridiculous. They look goofy and don't seem to have much point in public compared to what you already have.
Hold on let me bust out my workspace while waiting for the bus. Who is doing that? Versus listening to a podcast or just watching something on your phone. Maybe if the battery life lasted longer. But it's still bizarre.

It's interesting how at the end of the video he observed that the video feed from the glasses became indistinguishable from reality.

Aware people have been predicting for decades that this technology will be used to trick people into thinking that they're surrounded by demons:

Even without that, this will create a perfect surveillance society where everything is being recorded by cameras at all times. Phones have cameras too, but you have to consciously choose to take it out of your pocket and record something, whereas here it's the default.

If you don't think this will spread, think again.
It's bulky now, but it'll be miniaturized.
The input is awkward now, but this will interoperate with Elon's brain implants.
There are no apps worth using on it now, but at some point it'll be harder to find apps designed for regular PC's.
