they generally buy them on a payment plan with their telco that includes their service cost and arent paying up front. if office chair retailers offered 24 monthly interest free payments they'd probably take them up on it.

You always buy Herman Miller chairs used, as they retail for over a thousand dollars new, and lots of companies I’ve dealt with resell them from greedy companies that swap their equipment every few years. Most of the ones I’ve bought used end up being in amazing condition for a fraction of the price.

Doesn't bend, needs you to sit in one specific position, requires padding under your thighs so you don't get your circulation cut by the edge (what kind of meme shit is this?).
Rocking mechanism is the comfiest tho I'll admit.

Embody, leap and other similar models allow you to flex your back a little.

sitting for periods exceeding 40 minutes is an "extreme" use for a chair. You will obviously get backpain and all sorts of health problems if you remain seated for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Really? How long to stand after 15 minutes? How to get work done?

If you have a pre-remastered series (2016) chair, I’d get the PostureFit+ attachment, as that keeps the S-shape for your back.

Well, my other questions would be:

Do you fit the height and weight for your size chair? Herman Miller has a chart for each size. Most people fit in size Bs, but some very short slender people need to go for size As and super tall/big boios go for Cs. If you’re not in the right size chair you may be running into issues.

Then I would ask, do you feel your computer desk is a proper height? A lot of older desks have shorter heights, and so using those desks you may not be typing or have your arms, neck, legs etc positioned properly. For me, my desk is from the 90s and too short, so I have my chair at the lowest height setting and I run into ergonomics issues despite the chair being solid. I gotta replace the desk soon, just have been lazy with it. I figured I’d throw it out there in case that may be your issue.

Lastly, do you sit up straight in your chair? Keep in mind this is supposed to keep your back held in a good posture. It’s not a magical chair that lets you slouch around without worry. This is where everything comes into play, from chair height, desk height, arm height, etc etc. Make sure you have the right settings, there should be some video adjustment guides for the Aeron on their site, I would recommend making sure you have everything to the right settings.

Other than that there’s not much else I can offer in advice. Good luck!

it's true though. Furniture companies have a vested interest in selling you furniture and making you believe that you need it in order to be healthy. The actual healthiest thing is just using a regular stool, and when you get tired that's a sign that you need to stand up and take a break.

Posture wise you look fine (get Titanium wheels for a hard floor if you havent already, those look like carpet casters to me). Table is a good height, legs are at a 90 degree angle. I dont see anything wrong here (I’m not an expert though)

Maybe the Aeron chair just isnt for you. Maybe something like the Herman Miller Embody is more your thing. I’ve used it for a while, some people swear by it but I developed weird issues and ended up going with an Aeron instead.
