Windows 7 will still fricking work, security updates are a meme just use common sense and you wont need Microfrick to babysit you

doesn't change the fact that software support is shrinking, it's getting harder to daily drive it. we only have microc**t to blame for this as we watch their AI lunacy unfold with 10/11

Yeah there were ads playing on the radio about how Windows 7 support was ending soon and then they were selling computers that had Windows 7 on them

if that were true everyone would still be on xp.

yes they still would, updates are not important for home users.
windows xp died because of end software support, and because it no longer came preinstalled.
literally NO straight man gives a frick about updates.

xp was a completely different environment and time when your network was left wide open because of the high trust society it was created for. im not even sure if xp came with a basic firewall. you could attempt to directly connect to basically anyone's computer if you knew their ip address. in the xp era, you could write your own drivers and have windows just run them with no verification what so ever.

Vanishingly few people had "a network" back when XP was released. And those that did were expected to know how to secure them.

windows 11 operating system is so bad it wraps around to being great. AME playbooks for every config you want
        No stigma of closed ISO.
a broken CCS scriptable UI that is easy to soft mod.
basically its free real estate to have whatever kind of OS I want
and it has native linux support.

Win10 perfected Win7. I'd rather switch to Linux than using Pajeet11.

windows 10 was 100% the beginning of the rot, and people only even have a modicum of love for this OS because of the inertia of basically growing up with it, or using it for as long as they have. The forced updates, spyware and desktop ads started with W10.

Winhoes 10 is a bit slower than 7 but boasts far more game compatibility and modern security.
