This seriously. Everyone I went to school with is 35 and still renting. The only positive about this place is the % of white people here but people just make up other reasons why they like it so they don’t appear racist. “Uhhh yeah I like the scenery tehe.” “Uhhhe year the craft beer scene here is really good!”

Man Idaho and Western Montana got fricked hard by the commiefornians

My little brother moved to Boise and I visited him a few times. It's based as frick. All the great qualities of small town and city living with none of the downsides besides cost. Young population of sociable transplants, walkable, tons of awesome restaurants, like 6 national parks in a 3 hour drive. There was a handful of Black folk still and they're worse than normal Black folk, but much less than any other city I've been to. Probably Somalian government transplants.

Pretty much the entire state could be a national park there's so much cool shit to do there and all the small towns have so much character. Would move there if I didn't have a wife and great job in a low cost of living area. Every time I come back to Cleveland it's like going to a third world country, really shocks the system.

The Boise area and the rest of the southern part of the state looked really boring to me. Just a bunch of plains. Occasionally a big canyon would open up out of them so that was cool. I must have missed the walkable part.

You're gambling with your life living around blacks and doing that in a state hostile to gun ownership and white people defending themselves is like going all in at a fixed game

That only happens in the city proper and even then only on designated shooting streets. Most people with homes will live in the suburbs.

You do get screwed a bit on taxes and fees but on aggregate it's cheaper than the northeast or west coast. Safety is on the uptrend as court cases have brought gun rights back to the city and people are shooting criminals defensively. I'd consider moving back if I hadn't discovered motorcycling in the meantime.

So, legitimately, why is Intermountain West housing so expensive? The coast I get, but is it JUST Californians cashing out and buying up the town? I know transport costs make everything more expensive, does that just mess up build costs? Still I can't see why Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Western Montana and all should be more expensive than, say, the North Shore suburbs of Chicago. I'm very curios about a lot of this - That hotspot on the TN/NC/GA border too.

Read the graph more carefully anon. It’s house price vs income. North shore Chicago salaries are very high.

vs which median income? national or state? I'm guessing sate

      Anonymous

It's because everyone is leaving Washington/Oregon/California to retire to the mountain west or they're living here working remote. The problem with incoming transplants is they don't understand why the new areas they're moving to are so desirable, they refuse to admit that low taxes and mostly white people makes an area liveable. All of the wood for the new builds is logged in the forests nearby, transport isn't a factor besides for appliances.

mexicans arent really all that bad. in fact i would argue that if you removed all the people who earn over 80k salary from the white population. Hispanic and white crime rates would be equal.

im not arguing for illegal immigration. I live in a high hispanic area and they are genuinely good hardworking people.

i guess what im arguing is that they are obviously behind economically and that there slightly higher crime rates then white people is a result of economics.

black people on the other hand have 5x the crime rates of whites and 4x the crime rates of hispanics. im not really sure how to fix that but their culture definitely seems to praise violence.
