          right now I have:
          >32" 4k 60Hz MVA panel monitor bought in 2017 (AOC U3277PWQU)
          >23" 1080p 60Hz IPS panel monitor I bought in 2010 (Asus PA238Q, using it in vertical mode atm)
          >27" 1080p 75Hz IPS panel monitor I bought last year (Xiaomi Desktop Monitor 27)
          >32" 4k 144Hz IPS panel monitor I'm getting early june, still awaiting delivery (Gigabyte M32U)
the 14 years old Asus stopped working somewhere early last year and somehow when I tried turning it on again last week it was working again. it keeps making a constant high-pitched whining noise tho and from disassembling it I know almost all capacitors on the power board are dead, it's a miracle it's still working lmao. but as long as it works I'm keeping it, I'll have the capacitors replaced at some point when I find the time to. also the AOC monitor has the entire top part of the backlight completely dead, that's why I ordered the Gigabyte to replace it, but I'm probably gonna keep it around for a secondary build or something, since it's still somewhat working

If you can't afford $1000 to $1600 every couple of years if you do end up getting burn in then you shouldn't buy an OLED. Poors always punching above their weight

It's definitely not poorgay tech. OLED and specifically OLED monitors are a luxury, no amount of cope or panel saving features will save it from burn-in.
If you can't accept that your 1000$ monitor might shit the bed within 3 to 4 years, you are better off getting a "good" budget IPS or MiniLED and live worry-free.

          >If you can't accept that your 1000$ monitor might shit the bed within 3 to 4 years
No one who buys cutting edge technology stays with it that long, specially when OLED monitors are improving every year.
These people will just sell the monitor under warranty and buy/trade-in for the next best thing. It's the people who look for second hand units that should be worried about OLED wear.

I've been using the LG CX for multiple years now as a monitor 8-10+ hours a day and still no sign of burn in.
All i do is auto hide taskbar, dark background and black screensaver after 15 minutes.
I have no idea how people always end up with shit like your picture.
You would litearlly have to have to same image running at full brightness for multiple months straight without ever changing it even once.

        Anonymous

Depends a lot on how you use the monitor, LG OLEDs are very good at preventing burn-in if you enable every panel saving feature (logo recognition, ABL, TPC/GSR in service menu, low brightness use in general etc).
OLED monitors are far worse with burn-in for some reason.

Dell is moving away from it because it's literally buggy garbage. even the monitor I have has a non-gsync version that's imperceptibly the same fricking thing, without the novideo garbage.

reminder, flashing a pattern at 60Hz can possibly execute code in your monitor too.

its not a bad OLED, but 120hz is too slow nowadays

        Anonymous

if you *need* more than 120hz at 4k, you might just be a competitive player that would benefit more from a zowie 500hz TN than OLED
realistically even a 4090 won't drive many games at a 240hz target and even then you have to use DSC since the bandwidth is too limited for the 4k240hz

          Anonymous

Stupid cope, the more the better especially on oleds low response rates. 240 4k oled 27in can't some soon enough. At worst it's a big QoL improvement at best you can run your games even smoother

            Anonymous

Not sure where you're seeing "cope", higher refresh rate is always better but it's not that important at 4k with our current gen hardware.
If you truly care about response time and motion you should get a 1440p 360hz OLED or a TN/IPS with BFI.

Calling a 120hz 4k OLED "slow" is kinda ridiculous, especially when it's a LG C1-4 that outperforms a lot of the new OLED monitors' in input latency and raw response time.

Thats pure cope, every faster OLED should have lower latency and overall response time.
Just admit you have buyer's remorse.

            Anonymous

I literally own both a C3 and the AW3225DF, not sure where's the "buyer's remorse".
You literally just proved my point with your Rtings measurements, the LG has less latency at the same refresh rates as the 1440p AW2725QF.

I'd send you back the "buyer's remorse" comment but I'm pretty sure you don't even own a single OLED screen in your household.

Motion clarity is the most moronic point you could bring up to finish this argument considering the LG C-series have 120hz BFI which easily mogs even 360hz QD-OLED.
