Yeah for some reason Krita is just slower and shittier feeling on my computer (running Linux/KDE) vs a pirated copy of Photoshop running in Wine.
    Can't explain that.

      >Can't explain that.
      Yes I can.

The same way Flash 8 runs faster then krita.
Flash 8 was made in a time when people did have a win 98 or winXP computer, with limited computer power the devs needed to write efficiently.

Krita was made in recent times meaning the devs did go full insane bloatware and moronic shit decisions.

Photoshop was here since the 90s.

        checked
also for the longest time both Gimp and Krita would have trouble tracking my tablet, like if I drew a curve or something fast I'd get a shitty segmented line with hard angles, not a curve. Like my circles would come out octagons lol.
Couldn't be the drivers tho, since pirated Photoshop in wine did just fine regardless how fast I drew I'd get a properly smooth line.
        Fricking boggles the mind.
Also somehow the interface feels bigger and clunkier with less room for actual work, even though if you measure the menus and toolbars and shit take up the same or similar amount of space. It's weird.

Anyway I just use AzPainter it's kinda shitty and unintuitive but it's written in simple C with it's own GUI toolkit and it's tiny and fast it could probably run on a 386 2bh.

Krita is designed primarily for artists who create raster graphics. If you're making memes, you probably want something focused more on manipulation like GIMP. If you work primarily with vectors you should use Inkscape.

You answered your own question, "how do you run it on GNU/Linux". Never having to worry about software compatibility is one factor in a long list of reasons I don't bother to use Linux on my main computer. I do run Linux on my home server and on my laptop but the laptop is only used for web stuff which is OS agnostic and the home server is for hobbiest stuff

Well my idea is that you're supposed to not to use the software that can't run on GNU/Linux in the first place and use an alternative. You're right though if you already know how to use that software and don't know how to use the alternative.

      >>For Krita 5.2, you’ll still have to use the SVG code editor to access these new features, but for Krita 5.3 we’ll be working on the text tool proper, making it on-canvas and allowing you to configure the new features with menus and presets.

You have to use the nightly builds unless you want to write SVG yourself (which is painful).

The text tool uses rectangular selection, fitting content into a dialogue bubble will work just fine. I doubt many web comic artists would need to do more than a single pass on updating considering the majority of their text is going to be homogenized to a single face with varying styles. I can't imagine this would be a blocking issue for anyone.

And there it is, you couldn't even deny that your opinion is completely unfounded. Good talk anon. I genuinely hope you do more with your life one day than make bad memes.

Text isn't painting. You're a homosexual and you type like a homosexual.

Inkscape is a torture method banned by the Geneva convention.

I've spent 1800+ hours using Illustrator and I've been able to work in Inkscape just fine. Like any amateur my guess is you don't actually use keyboard shortcuts.

All of this however more the wasted time. Fricken imagine switching to GIMP to add text to whatever garbage you made in krita....

        YIKES!

        >imagine switching to GIMP to add text to whatever garbage you made in krita
No one would do that because you can just add text in Krita and it'll work just fine for 99% of use cases.

A lot of artists I follow use multiple programs to work on a single image. Krita, Gimp, Inkscape, etc. Use the right tool for the right job, what's so hard about that?

          >Dude like different tools use like GIMP and shit

          >just add text in Krita
Only kritas text tool is unimaginable shit that literally wastes your time. Like pointed out in countless examples in this thread.

More like GIMP is a crap car however can open the trunk no problem while krita requires you play simon says with it and win before it lets you open the trunk.

Isn't Krita a drawing tool? Draw your own text.
