...why would the audiophool starter pack include equalizers? they are one of the few things that can actually change the sound, and regular people can take advantage of it as well, I don't understand your point, anon.

Kek it's measurable and audible. Perhaps the slopes at Audio Science Review can't hear it in blind listening tests of music they aren't familiar with. But that's not my problem.

If you can hear resampling artifacts in your music then you need to listen to more variety. Try some folk (actual folk music written in eg 17th century Europe) midevil or classical (and try different performances so you can appreciate the musicality and technique differences.)

It depends on the algorithm entirely, some DACs or OS's or even software will do its own resampling, sometimes you even get two iterations of resampling if things aren't configured properly, three if you're also running EQ lol.

EQ? I only listen to music through a broadcast processor with relatively aggressive settings. Basically all songs and genres deliver the same constant amount of energy from the speakers all the time. Waiting for the day when someone points out that I've completely lost my mind

So there are no quiet parts, only loud parts? That sounds like a recipe for a headache.

Pretty much, but no headache because the thing has been specifically designed to maintain maximum loudness and still sound good for long listening sessions

How does resampling to whole number multiples cause distortion? Your DAC's output filter is fricked if this makes a difference.

Time-delay artifacts are inevitable with multiple iterations of resampling, period, and this isn't just measurable, it's basic information theory with Claude Shannon.

Whether or not some random chang off the street can tell, given random music he doesn't know, on some random system, that's not relevant.
