I need INDIGLO so I use the Timex Ironman.

The F-91W is pretty overrated. The resin band is garbage that breaks within a year or two, the backlight is a joke, and I constantly find myself wishing it had a countdown timer. In spite of all of that, my old F-91W with a NATO strap is still the watch I wear the most by far. I like the size and it's my designated beater watch at this point.

      Yes.

Also great watches, the Timex Ironman in particular is pretty underrated. I recently picked up an LF20W, which has the feature set of the AE1200, but is about the size and thickness of the F-91W. It would nearly be the perfect watch (for me), but the viewing angles are kind of shitty. Still a good watch, though.

I haven't had the wristband break yet, been wearing my F-91W for like 4-5 years now. Granted it's not like two decades yet, but it doesn't even look worn or damaged, I fully expect the watch to need a battery replacement before it needs a band replacement.
I've also genuinely never used any of its alarm features or whatever. Maybe if I was travelling AND didn't have my phone, that'd be useful, but for niche applications like countdown timers or stopwatches or alarms, I do have my phone. I didn't even realise the F91 doesn't have a countdown timer. Honestly, if you really need one in a pinch you can always just bootleg one with an alarm.
Personally if anything I'd prefer it if the watch didn't have a ton of faces, so I wouldn't ever find it accidentally displaying like alarm settings or whatever instead of the time.

You're correct about the backlight. Well, it works in the dark, so technically it does its job, it would just be really easy to make it not dogshit garbage.

Overall, I genuinely don't need more. I've considered dropping up to a few hundred bucks on some meme like I dunno a g-shock or a solar-powered seiko or something, but every time I think about it I just try to think of why I would even need one, and just end up concluding that the F-91W really does do everything I need it to. It's even famous enough to work as a fashion statement.

you probably bought a counterfeit bro. Hold the bottom right button for a few seconds and it should display CASIO. If it doesn't it's fake

      >"sensorwatch"
      >only sensor it comes from is a temperature sensor which doesn't even work if you're wearing the watch, basically "lol it can be a portable thermometer if you put it next to your bed bro"
      >also they have pins!!! on their board, so other people can make more sensors!!! (nobody has) (also I think you can only ever fit one addon board at a time so you pretty much can't combine sensors even if there were other options, you'd just have to pick one to solder on)

Just call it an alternative firmware or something rather than muh sensor watch.

phones do tell the time but you have to pull it out of your pocket. I understand myopic zoomers have their phone in their hands 24/7 but that's not me

      >you have to pull it out of your pocket
Which takes like 2 seconds - including putting it back in, exactly the time it would take me to lift up my sleeve

        Anonymous

you don't have to lift up your sleeve you just move your arm a little bit and make it stick out. I don't even like having my phone in my pants pocket because aesthetically having clunky bulge draws attention away from my substantial penis bulge. if I'm out and about it's in a coat pocket, if i'm at work or chilling somewhere it's on a desk or the counter somewhere or on a charger.
Also... watches look nice. It's the only nongay accessory you can have as a man.
