Linux is at 4% of the desktop market share now

And it's going up!
will the 2030s be the decade of the Linux desktop?
reminder that Microsoft doesn't give a frick about Windows anymore, so we won't be getting push back from them in the next decade as they're too busy milking the service industry.

If you're being really generous it is but that microkernel functionally starts Android in userland to do everything else.

Unknown is mostly Windows, there's a fricking absurd dent in Windows in early 23 accompanied by the exact same sized bulge in Unknown.

Yeah, that was when some upgraded to Windows 11 and the stats didn't reflect Windows 11 as being part of Windows yet.
Not sure if that's still the case.

No it's not. Why would some windows versions randomly show up as unknown? It's all niche linux distros that they didn't bother to count separately

How in the frick does anyone justify paying 600 for that shitbox? What the frick, for 600 it should at least come with 16gb ram and 1tb storage, that would be more in line with other companies like Dell. Even then it would be a shit deal with a fricking mobile processor.

There really isn't anything to force people to use Windows anymore. All the productivity apps are available on Mac and gaming is getting better on Linux.

This. Why would we even want linux to be mainstream? Historically normies have always ruined technology. Look where windows and macos are now, they also started out as hobby/niche os.

I *wish* MS didn't care about Windows anymore, just leave the shit alone and keep making security patches. Windows 10 was perfect and Windows 11 is still OK but is like the moronic twin that had too little oxygen at birth and just isn't quite all there.
