Repressed emotion maybe? I'm not sure, but I too am often moved by poems. Your situation brought this gem to my mind (hopefully, it won't make you cry).

    >Silence by Marianne Moore
    My father used to say,
'Superior people never make long visits,
have to be shown Longfellow's grave
or the glass flowers at Harvard.
    Self-reliant like the cat--
that takes its prey to privacy,
the mouse's limp tail hanging like a shoelace from its mouth--
    they sometimes enjoy solitude,
and can be robbed of speech
by speech which has delighted them.
    The deepest feeling always shows itself in silence;
    not in silence, but restraint.'
Nor was he insincere in saying, 'Make my house your inn.'
    Inns are not residences.

      Nice one.
But Persian poems which is my native language have a lot more intense effect on me.

I had already assumed you were MENA or Latin, actually. I think your cultures also tend to this sort of effect of poetry on men, for some reason.

Persian is a very potent language for poetry.
I don’t know about arabic or latin

The same thing happens to me when I witness large battles or fights. I watched Bottoms with my girlfriend and had to hide that I was tearing up during the climactic scene. I'm not even particularly scared of crying in front of her, it would just be an absurd thing to try to explain to her.

I think the feeling is akin to longing and I cry because I long for a certain type of kinship. Being part of a group I can view as equals who I can trust with my life.

I suppose your longing is for some romantic ideal that you are yet to encounter.

Yeah, it's about a pair of lesbian teenagers starting a fight club under the pretense of self defence training but they really just want to feel up other girls. It's pretty funny.

It's called having a SOVL. Don't let the ghouls in this board take that away from you.

      You're the ghoul, ngl.

Used to write poems that made my ex move tears
When she left me tears fell from my eyes but i never cried

I have a similar problem, but with movies (even frankly bad ones); dry-eyed otherwise.
I love poetry as well, but generally good poetry raises my pulse rate and makes me more alert than usual

The crying poem phenomenon. It's actually super common amongst a small amount of people. It's said that there is no idea why it happens.
