dont be like my format flatmate and use it when you are a welder that works all the time near steel dust and random metallic crap

My conclusion is that it's only an issue if you're charging with 20 V because on disconnect there can be arcing (which I doubt would cause damage to the device itself, maybe to the magnetic adapter itself) but if you're using a standard 5 V charger it's probably a non issue

KEK if theres a problem with arcing then just plug into the wall last every time.

        >worn out wall outlets

        get a wall outlet switch.

            plug into laptop first

plug into wall outlet (in your goy apartment) last

no arcing at laptop, only arcing at wall

            No consooooooooomer purchasing required.

"Magnetic force", "gravitational force", "strong nuclear force", "Van der Waals forces".. it's all just a fancy way of saying suction.

for those who dont know: theres an electronic lubricant called di-electric grease. This grease is completely non-conductive and you could submerge your laptop in it if you wanted. So jam it inside your charging ports.

Only if they're particularly strong. That was really only a concern during the floppy disk days and I've never tested that out.

I will never buy from a company that uses these little blitzes in product images.

anon the magnets are calibrated to only attract other usb-c magnets

Do they have to beat and starve the magnets to make them do that or do they use more humane methods?

Been using it on my phones for years with no damage. Worst thing, is sometimes the tip gets dirty, which can block connecting, and can be weirdly tedious to clean.

why not just use a regular usb charger? what is the use case for arcing lightning?

It's a magnetic connector. You don't damage the fragile guts of your device when you bump into the cord sticking out of it. Instead the magnet just lets go.

only a matter of time before a microscopic metal shard lands in the connector and memes your shit up, it's pretty well known to avoid this chinkware, it's fries devices left and right

seems like a dangerous hack fix when you could just buy sturdy hardware in the first place.
is there a video of one of these things working?
