Spirit over matter. All of these limitations are self imposed. Placebo and nocebo are actually literally everything.

i will not rely on le google any longer, i am free! i have power over my life! yeah...
but seriously, i prefer to have things explained to me by the person trying to communicate than by the motherfricking filtered collective consciousness of the brutalized masses at a particular point in time

The inverse of a placebo. Where placebo is positive effect caused by one's internal belief. A nocebo is a negative effect caused by said belief.

This is true to a degree, however I think we can agree there are pretty severe limitations on what you can achieve through this. Just because you can placebo yourself into a pocket dimension where time flows different and you experience several kalpas before returning to this plane of existence, your physical body of this plane cannot overcome death or disfigurement to a degree that impedes function.

Tl:Dr, you can absolutely schizo wizard your way into superhuman feats, yet it still won't make you Immortal or regrow lost limbs.

        Anonymous

Well I didn't want to go through all the permutations, but it could be. For example regrowing an amputated limb. It is apparent that a person can change the shape of their energetic body to either contract from, or fill where the limb would be (phantom). This is a phenomena not in the brain but in space itself, in the field surrounding the body. Will this ever start to regrow the limb, or just cause unpleasant sensations? No idea.

If the ultrastructure of the part is still present however, spirit (not mind) over matter can force it to function or regenerate. This is how people lift cars, mice swim for days, people keep walking with fatal injuries, etc.

The shit you listed just comes from turning off limiters that prevent you from destroying your muscles when this is necessary

Nope. I think it's because none of this is real.

You don't think it strange how all your examples show a feat of momentary strength which could be explained through mechanistic means with muscle limiters?

You're describing my 8th grade perspective. Expending all three phosphates at once somehow, proprioception normally protecting the body from itself by limited recruitment, adrenaline. On and on. No, it's not that I don't get it, it's that I don't

also if you have trouble staying focused, it probably isn‘t for you and you should follow and try out, whatever your heart thinks is right

So true. I spent the first 25 years of my life rotting while telling myself to do stuff and never doing it. I only managed to start these past 5 years because the desire to learn and do things I'd been cultivating was finally enough and drove me insane to the point of straight up psychosis. Feels good man.

psychosis if done well is actually a beneficial experience. If done badly you'll start killing people or yourself or your soul. It's a risky deal. Let's see if it pays off.

What are your guys's experience with medication and studying? Thinking of getting a diagnosis but I either have to pay 1k out of poket or wait 12+ months

      Anonymous

I found I can study better but the medication actually makes my math ability worse despite it preventing a lot of transcription errors, i can’t think as clever. Them best thing you can do if diagnosed is to go to disability services and get time accommodations for your test so you can catch any dyscalcula related mistakes before handing it in

    >Hard as frick 3rd and 4th year
    >Mind gets erratic and demotivated pretty often cause I can't dedicated every day to studying
    >Eventually get into a massive panic 2-3 days before a major deadline and pull multiple all-nighters hyperfocused to finish the math project
    >Fricking exhausted and miserable afterwards
    >Always get above 80% on assignments.

ADHD is a blessing and a curse. This isn't a healthy way to manage studying but I can't fricking control it

    Absolute moron thread so far.

ADHD makes it 10x easier to learn math because you're prescribed stimulants.

The whole "ADHD brain" is a meme perpetuated by clinical psychologists. Psychiatrists scoff at that idea. As they rightfully see it, it is a broad diagnosis and almost any human has deficets of executive functioning that could qualify under it.

The rest of this thread is pure cope too. Of course working in the presence of scarcity and needing to burden your mind with work, needing to pay for food, and study is going to tax it, duh, thus precipating the symptoms to which you're nebulously blaming ADHD on.

After treatment my IQ went up about ~1.4 stdevs, I no longer play video games.
Medication aside, I've also made lifestyle changes to have a less dopamine exciting daily life.
I think it's not something that people can understand unless they've dealt with it firsthand; it just sounds made up I suppose

I think I'm part of the tiny demographic of people who genuinely has a brain that can be assigned this nebulous label of ADHD,
but went undetected until mid-life because it was "masked" by high IQ.
Yea people called me intelligent my whole life but I always felt like a tard because my results didn't live up to those expectations; I became convinced of it too that I was just being lazy an undisciplined
Be kind, some things are beyond our control and we're not just looking for excuses

    Also:
Whether you believe ADHD is made up or real, you DO NOT want zoned out drivers, engineers, people who operate machinery or work on critical infrastructure
Overprescription/diagnosis is a hazard and people need to put down their fricking screens down and be alone with their thoughts more often.
But undetected cases like mine going unaddressed also poses a public health & safety hazard

even if it's not understood; there's something to it

      >After treatment my IQ went up about ~1.4 stdevs
This is a misleading way to look at it though. (It implies that the same result might be achieved with a medicated non-ADHD brain)

It's probably more accurate to say that going around untreated was handicapping the way I perform IQ tests in a way that a ~1.4 stdev discrepancy can be measured
I wouldn't expect the same result just throwing medication and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to someone who doesn't suffer from this ill defined condition

      (replying to myself)

It's hard when you have to perform passive stuff such as reading, but when you have to focus for a problem... i mean it still sucks but it's somehow better. Make your tasks as engaging as possible
