People will say that and completely ignore the historical record of the effect of coffee adoption. Coffee decupled the productivity of countries which adopted it first. Coffee is the drink of the hard working white (Anglo-Saxon protestant) man.

Tea also has caffeine, and thus I also don't drink it (herbal excluded, but that is not really Tea).

It frankly all boils down to what one has had since adolescence (called the baby duck factor on IQfy, I guess). Plus, tea has always had a strong preference here in India. That being said, I have a vehement dislike for tea. In its place, I tumble down copious amounts of coffee and Thums Up. That being said, I can occasionally go for workplace chai tea and samosa mini-get-together, and a cup of green tea here and there.

Apologies for the double usage of "that being said." I was initially planning to write "despite this" in the place of the first one.
