    Upgrade to Brave browser.

Ungoogled Chromium might or might not survive, depending on the devs wanting to keep or not keep manifest v2

How does Brave block ads? Doesn't the phaseout affect it?

Nope. Adblocking is built into the browser itself. Separate from the manifest changes.

        >Brave browser
        Crypto bloat
Just use Firefox, harden it yourself. it's an elegant solution and just werks

        >Crypto bloat
True. Wish there was a third party build without the cryptoshit, but its optional. I can deal with optional shit. I've dealt with all the optional shits from homosexualfox in the past.

        >gayfox
Nope. They showed their true colors. They're a troony ideology group who advocate for censorship

          >They're a troony ideology group who advocate for censorship
And this is relevant... how exactly? You do realize that 98% of people in tech are run of the mill basedcucks?
Ironically, "troony ideology" is a truly controversial and divisive subject, even within that leftoid sphere, so making a strong statement is admirable either way.
You don't have to reply by the way, you have the most 2-dimensional view of the world and nothing valuable to add except for spewing slurs because you're le epic privacy respektor chud. kys homosexual

    >News and development from the open source browser project
I don't remember the exact quote, but this reminds me that RMS often talked about how the difference between open source and libre software is that "open source" only exists to benefit big corporations. Google forcing onto everyone a change that literally not a single soul on earth wanted is quite possibly the best proof that he was right.

and why cant those browsers continue programming their own porks?
look at palemoon/basilisk, handful of people and got next nothing to do with firefox.

Google is using its market dominance to push a web standard. If other browsers dont follow, it might break them.

        Thats the core problem.

Near monopoly on browser allows such that. Monopoly aren't inherently bad, but its bad when they abuse their powers like this. Abusive monopolies for the purpose of advancing their own sole self-interest.

NTA but things change way too fast for anyone but a big company to really keep up.
Palemoon as an example is really just old Firefox, in keeping with legacy extensions it's effectively locked itself to esr 52 and they don't otherwise have the resources to backport actual browser engine code in order to retain parity with current releases

could someone give me a QRD on the technical reasons why Manifest V3 kills ad blockers?

      Anonymous

It removes important request inspection/interception tools in the name of muh segurity (but it has transparently been about subverting and killing ad blocking all along).

Firefox uses its own flavor of Manifest V3 that doesn't break adblock
      Jewgle did this on purpose.
