Mediocre people

Do any philosophers talk about what mediocre should do? There is a constant societal and genetic expectation to succeed. People constantly talk about those who have made it through dedication and hardwork, yet those those who have failed inspite of it, are rarely talked about. In any tournament there can be only a single winner, maybe being the runners-up is also fine, but there are many failures. These failures through tough grind may tire themselves only to end up as mediocres that go through the painfull cycle of improvement and decline, never ever reaching anywhere near the top. This is just exhausting. Any books on it?

The World Cup is the most prestigious tournament in world football. Your definition that the 'Euro Cup' is more 'difficult' is simply stupid, because the UEFA tournament is a qualifier for the World Cup, so it's a step below. Although I do admit that the World Cup involves a lot of luck, with the groups and all that, but nothing surpasses it

You can have a situation where you just play shitters and the other EU nations (and Brazil + Argentina) all eliminate each other. You still have to play against at least 1 strong team in the final but you can still win it with a bit of luck even as an underdog.
If you have a near 100% chance of winning before the final and then a 30% chance in the final facing Argentina or whatever, your chances are around 30% to win the tournament.
If you have several hard matches, you have to multiply the probabilities, so 0.3 * 0.3 * 0.3... it's just much less likely to win several games in a row against strong EU teams than win one single game against a strong team in the final.

There is a limit to how many European nations can qualify to the World Cup + qualification stage can be rough and tough too.
            >inb4 san marino andorra luxembourg micro nations
Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and Macedonia + micronations in one group is challenging.

Netherlands didnt qualify to WC 2018 lost out to Sweden and then you have Italy

Its hard to qualify to WC as an European nations thats why Euros>WC because Euros is basically open to everyone except tiny nations.

The EURO group stages are very hard in this case.
            In one group you have

            Portugal
            Slovenia?
            Greece?

    >Do any philosophers talk about what mediocre should do?
No because life is more complex than winning and losing. There are thousands of 'elite' athletes that never win or have a notable career. This does not mean they wasted their time. The goal is to do your best, not win. You can commit no mistakes and still lose, that's life. This sort of "if I'm not the top 1% whats the point" attitude is just insanity.

Personal redemption in the lower rungs of the hierarchy is possible if these people are innoculated with visions of what it means to be a good person. I personally believe that the purpose of humanity is to bring about truly great people, the kind of men who lifts everyone up. Living a moral and tempered life is what's required to maintain the ecosystem that can bring about these great men.

I'm talking about the fickleness of biology and that a Newton can't be willed into existence, the circumstances must allow for it to happen and that is realistically the only place where we can work effectively.

The "great men" are the fruit but it's simply something that is, we can logically think of them as superior but they're just fruit at the end of the day. The important part is to nourish the tree, that's all we can do

I think the most viable strategy, evolutionarily speaking, is to sacrifice yourself for something that makes you resonate the most with the world around you. Seeing and being in beauty will make you effective at taking action because options will seem more attractive to you.

You're not sacrificing yourself for Newton, you're sacrificing yourself for a temperament where Newton's relatively high status is perceived as something that is beneficial to all

Maguire is treated as a mediocre player by everyone, the public, the media, the pundits, even his teamates, even though he is in one of the best leagues. Yes, he is in one of the best league, yet the league itself becomes a new hierarchial structure where he is nothing but mediocre, unlike his Leicester days. That's what the philosophy is for??? like the movie Amadeus puts this perfectly. How can you fricking beat Mozart even when you work harder. You can't. So painful. To know you don't matter. Your pain, your work is for nothing. And there are people who didn't even have to do anything they are just great.

Isn't it just cope then. Self acceptance. It's just cope. Objectively. Yeah you can be content but you suck. All your hardships were for nothing. So why does it matter if you kys? Why shouldn't you? If you don't have any dependents, and you're done with life, why continue the suffering?

      This anon gets it.

In My Diary tbh by Anonicles he talks about how mediocre is a title that can only be given to someone post mortem and that should any person accept and seek out a way of life "meant" for the mediocre then that person is resigning to a self fulfilling prophecy, and possibly squandering talents or accessional qualities they didn't know that had because they never dared test themselves.

people in the middle are going to be following the will of the powerful one way or another, most philosophers probably wrote hoping to influence the future powerful and telling them how to dictate to normies, not telling normies how to become powerful
