More screen area with the same diagonal.
Computer and monitor makers aim for 16:9 because the average consumer picks their computers based on how good their netflix shows look and because the manufacturer can slap the same number on the retail box for cheaper, making it by far the most effective aspect ratio in terms of economies of scale.

            Anonymous

So it's more expensive due to worse economy of scale, and that's actually good because.....

Just buy a 4K 32" for the same price as a 1200p 24" and blank off the sides if you really want 16:10

40 inch 4k is still undefeated. Maybe 49 inch ultrawide.

I use one 40 inch 4k monitor with dwm tiling grid layout

big 4k monitor is the white man's choice

            it's a lie
you can make the subtitles smaller, move them to the bottom and move the video to the top then it kinda works

also who cares anyway? it's very autistic of someone to give a frick about stuff like this

only works for one line subtitles, it's not a massive size difference

Samsung Odyssey G9. I got spoiled working at a place where everyone had a giant curved monitor, so once COVID hit I “needed” it and they were paying. Then when I stopped working there and didn’t need 3 different codebases open for a tiny UI change it started being unnecessary.

work setup is neutral good with a vestigial work laptop on the side that I would love to keep closed, but I can't because Windows sucks dick at managing windows and will constantly hide shit offscreen if I ever close it or will randomly pick the laptop mic 10 seconds after closing a previous meting that was using the webcam mic
