    >ohnoo the homosexual globocorpo might lay me off
Boohoo then look for another job if you should get the boot whats the fricking deal
I dont get the constant whining from c**ts that got canned due to layoffs - like it would be some kind of massive tragedy
If you are a responsible adult and not some consumer cuck then you have enough saving so that you can survive a year wtihout depending on your paid adult day care
    >inb4 muh mortgage
Then its simply your fault/problem - locking yourself inside the wagecage for a glorified cardboard

it's a race to the bottom. that's the place you deserve by the logic of the market (statistically speaking). actually I'm sure you are unique and special and will eventually reach the place you deserve at the very top of society

I'm not angry, I'm just stating the facts. on the one hand, codemonkeys know they are in a precarious position, but on the other, the don't have the balls to unionize or even assume their situation as employees. so what can I tell you? open your own company bro

there are two types of people on here. type 1: people who hate their tech jobs and type 2: people who hate people with jobs. both types are angry.

Resilience is a primary goal. Even if you're laid off, it's not supposed to make your life immediately difficult. My goal is to be able to live up to two years without income

Me with a job in entry level retail for $31ph knowing I can pretty much never be replaced cuz customer service. Guess those years at uni were a waste of your time eh?

While it's not technically automation if you transfer the job to the customer, our supermarkets are now infested with these self-checkouts everywhere, reducing the need for cashiers replacing them with a single guard monitoring you like a thief

Yeah, there's plenty of those here too but my position isn't sales I'm more janitorial/stocking/aiding customers I see a lot of people using the manned checkouts though i guess they prefer the human touch. also they monitor you like a thief cuz there are a lot of theives

I think it's still poor optics to have gates and inspections to "prove you're not a thief". Really makes me not want to associate with them' a reduction in cashiers indirectly undermines your job security by creating larger pool of potential cheap workforce in whatever you're doing there

yeah, changing jobs is always a hassle, especially for independent contractors. this, plus shitty job market kinda makes me reluctant to pull the plug. but I really, really want to.

Me too. I am a developer working on shit software with so many issues it's moronic. Joined the team two years ago to fix it and literally nothing has changed.
I just got woke up by some off shore pajeet creating a high critical service now ticket lol. Now I'm mad and can't sleep

I feel you bro. our product is a microservice clusterfrick, and most of the time you don't even know where to start untangling that shit. in the software itself there are race conditions everywhere. Linux support is an afterthought, and is fricked up beyond belief. it's a fricking cesspool.
