1400 yurobux is quite a lot for something that will barely work because it's Windows on ARM.

Quite. According to our govt. news the average finn can scratch up ~100€/mo in savings. That laptop could barely be gotten in a single year.

Does it come with standards compliant UEFI? Being able to turn off SecureBoot or add my own keys is the bare minimum.

ASUS loves locking down bootloaders on PCs but fail to realize something important: If I wanted the iPad experience I would have just bought an iPad to begin with. They better have a strong x86_64 to ARM translation layer on Windows 11 or a way to get Debian running easily.

i literally don't care if its better considering the absolute shitshow that is asus support
when i bought my first laptop after slaving away at fast food for several months as a teen they sold me a laptop where every key was just the letter "S" (outside of meta/windows, shift, space, etc) and when i contacted support their response was just that nothing was wrong with it and to send them 200 dollars to get my laptop back

I can't wait for the ARMgay cope when this thing releases and it runs like a netbook from 2010 because Qualcomm is shit at making processors. ARM isn't some magic bullet, in the real world ISA makes very little difference. Apple shit gets better battery life because they always buy out TSMC's newest manufacturing node, and their chips are designed to go into a very low-power idle state because they're designed for cell phones. Under load, per-watt performance is more or less equivalent to AMD's CPUs on the same node.

Remember when the ARM magic was supposed to make shit cheaper and last longer? Now we're getting 1400€ laptops with battery life that hasn't been special in 5 years. And I bet these will fall apart after 2-3 years like MS's own Surface junk. God, I tried so hard to like those but they're just not good.
