Does not recognise either the Pope or the Orthodox Churches as authoritative, check.
Decentralised and subject to sectarianism, check.

They are closer to being an orthodox sect, especially considering the parallels with the African Orthodox Church. Although the Rastafarians have more connection to the Abyssinian Church.

That’s the mental equivalent of saying “water drinking”. Are you even Christian? Do you have the faintest idea what you are talking about?

We get it they drink water.
            >Decentralised and subject to sectarianism, check.
That’s entirely subjective, you can argue the “Orthodox” Churches are decentralised and sectarian.
            >Does not recognise either the Pope or the Orthodox Churches as authoritative, check.
That’s another stupid standard. You are oversimplifying Christianity and the doctrines of various churches.

            Cont.
            >and subject to sectarianism
Now I will admit that my understanding of Rastafarianism is very limited, but they are particularly sectarian. Their entire mansion system is set up to allow differences in theology while allowing for overarching unity in Rastafarianism as a whole.

            Arianism is a Protestant sect?

I am going to say no, Arius probably wanted his faith to become the dominant doctrine.

But you have modern Unitarians in the US (they have existed for like 3 centuries already) who are effectively Protestants.

So to answer your question, yeah, Arianism *can* be Protestant

Protestantism is specifically the branches of Christianity that came out in protest of the Catholic Church. Older church movements (like Arians and Nestorians) before this movement are not Protestant.

Do you think that you can create a new religion like Christianity with a man that starts to preach something and says he is God and has magical powers? That is not possible anymore. That was possible 2000 years ago when people didn't know anything and believe everything the priests told them. Now people would think you are just crazy and you would be labeled a cult.

The future of religion in my opinion is that Christianity will continue to lose influence in the West and it will be replaced by some philosophy about being a good person, respecting nature, helping others, etc., but without the magical part. The future will be science and then some philosophy about what I said earlier.

Scientology is only like 70 years old. Mormonism only 150 years old. Maybe they didn’t claim they were god but they made wild claims about them wearing profits

The world of quantum physics points more towards a Neoplatonist view of anything. At the very least you will see a reemergence of metaphysics back into the mainstream. Other than that, religions are born and live through the vitality of the people. You can’t just big brain a religion off of nothing but rationalism. You’re more likely to find tribal animism being tied to AR15s and dirt bikes in the coming collapse and eventual dark age of America than anything else.

Shit, there was a mass suicide in Kenya a year ago after a cult leader said they all needed to die for Jesus to return

Little cults, not worldwide religions. And also in countries were people have less education and are more easily brainwashed by that kind of things.

Well at least this focus now gives emphasis on practical experience like meditation and wellbeing, doing more good than harm

However the elimination of communitarism in new religion has seriously fricked up the west for good and will mean its replacement by Islam in Europe and Communism/Fascism in USA
