Nobody exists except for me?

Reality is all in the mind. Is it possible for reality to be in my mind? The totality of reality is just a figment of my imagination?

Congrats anon you cracked the code

Now you have to decide between 3 options, ranked by IQ
    a) return and huff the materialist cope because you can't handle the paradox of solipsism
    b) go full shizo end up making moronic thread on /x/
    c) listen to ram dass, alan wats and other enlightened masters on youtube untli you get it, while doing shrooms every now and then

There's nothing to do except die tbh. Reality is pointless. Materialism only sufficed when I was ignorant and believed it was all real. No point in entertaining the illusion at all really. Ram Dass and Alan Watts are pointless.

I really just want to run away from it all and just chill on the beach until I despawn or something.

        >There's nothing to do except die tbh
If you think death is the solution, you really haven't figured out shit. Death is more of the same. You've been reincarnating probably for millions of lives already, if you think dying once more is gonna help you're in for an unpleasant surprise. The only point of Buddhism is to break this cycle, but you have to be at a certain advanced stage to even begin to comprehend this is the predicament you find yourself in.

what the frick is that? Either you are solipsistic or you are not. What paradox is there to "deal with"?

Also OP is right, in the world there is nothing but the self and the spook. A will, and representation.

Nice solipsism post. You should know that solipsism will either lead you to two outcomes: committing suicide or becoming an inhuman psychopath.

Mario Montano believed the exact same thing before he drowned himself.

    https://vitrifyher.wordpress.com/2020/01/05/what-i-mean-by-saying-that-i-am-in-a-simulation/

    >By saying that I am in a simulation I am saying that I was walking down a mall when the police recognized me as me as someone who was suicidal. They just walked up to me and took me to the hospital. How did they have that knowledge? That’s what I mean by this being a simulation. I was walking in the forest and saw a man and his dog pass me by on the trail. Then a few minutes later I saw the man and his dog pass me again. There should be no way for him to teleport. That’s what I mean by this being a simulation. For a few weeks people wouldn’t look me in the eyes even if I stared at them. That’s what I mean when I say this is a simulation. There was also the overwhelming sense that people were simulated. It was really uncanny. There’s also the fact that civilization runs so smoothly and everybody just falls into the right place in society such that this continues. There’s also the fact that people are generally stupid but yet there are iPhones, planes, running hot water, etc. I think that people are fake and not really doing all these impressive things. There’s just the appearance that humans like myself do all of these things. That’s what I mean by saying this is a simulation. There’s also the fact that I was interacting with an intelligence while browsing twitter and watching YouTube videos. This intelligence appeared to know me and communicated with me through curated content that was all aimed at me. This is what I mean by saying that I am in a simulation.

This dude was actually smart but he never meditated or smoked weed or did hallucinogens. Those would have saved him because they would show them what samadhi actually is beyond the mental masturbation

. I think we mostly agree, but there are some points I would bring up that I am sure would change his perspective on the topic to spark a very interesting conversation at the least.

Free will is as real as color.

        So not real at all?

          Anonymous

Pretty much. Free will, like color, is a purely subjective experience. It is based on an objective reality, quantum fluctuations or photon wavelength, but the interpreted experience is purely subjective. We believe it to be real, and that's enough for practical day-to-day experience.

          >if determinism is true then prediction must be achievable
          non-sequitur.

            Anonymous

that is not enough because there is one more situation where you wouldn't be able to predict a "deterministic" system, and that's when it isn't actually deterministic. you'd have a hell of a time with predicting it in that case as well.
            >it's determined but I can't tell you because...I just can't okay?

            Anonymous

the reason is because of our limited computing capabilities. to predict events in the universe, one would need a system as large as the entire universe itself. and our brains are clearly much smaller than that.

            Anonymous

no reason for the calculation to fit in your brain, it can happen outside, you just need to learn of the result of that calculation.
you can guess you might be in a determined universe. if you cannot prove it, it may not be determined.
determinism makes sense for part of reality, sure. part knowable and part unknowable, 50% schizo 50% logical, yin-yang
if you cannot prove it, your deterministic view of the universe (with us in it) is faith based, not science.

    >Reality is all in the mind. Is it possible for reality to be in my mind? The totality of reality is just a figment of my imagination?
your reality is mediated by your brain, which can and will misrepresent what is

      Anonymous

How do you know that? You only know because your "brain" told you. How do you know your "brain" told you?

I can use tools to detect if what I am seeing is yellow or red+green light. I can figure out I'm not seeing reality for what it is, using tools and the scientific method. Even if I trust myself, I will always want to check using tools and the scientific method, to make sure.
Ultimately my brain might be connected to the output of some VR computer that feeds all this "fake" info into it.

        >You only know because your "brain" told you.
No, because other brains did and were able to demonstrate illusions and write books about them before I even existed.

You're not imagining it, you're modelling it. Try perturbing the model with a high dose of psychedelics, when you touch the table in front of you that seems to be moving, it still feels just as solid as before. Imagining it would let your mind effect the world. Lucid dreaming shows this very clearly, it's having access to the actual model. You can touch grass, it feels like grass. But the fundamental difference is that you're able to change the world on demand, pass through solids, float. The actual world is characterized by your mind and body existing under an external set of rules.
