Space travel beyond earth orbit is horrendously expensive with virtually no return other than some cool pictures. We only ever landed on the moon to win a pissing contest with the soviets.

Significant advances in space exploration aren't happening for a long fricking time absent some major new financial or military incentives or massive technological breakthroughs. NASA only exists to virtue signal and to launch a probe at some random space rock every decade or so.

No, because there must be at least one female to avoid accusations of sexism.

That's so moronic. There have been tonnes of instances about how toxic women are to each other in absence of a man. There's a woman who started an all woman company and lives to regret it. The femoids backstabbing each other led her to company's bankruptcy lmao. Now imagine what these foids will do to each other out in space.

So, they are worried that one of the mars crew will get knocked up on the journey if they have a mixed crew of males and females?

Isn't the point of trying to populate Mars to have people go there and begin to colonize? Having the first few batches of people have some kids so that the population can begin to sustain itself seems like the only way that this isn't just a purposeless death sentence for suicidal lunatics.

Will everyone get their appendixes removed? Surgeons who overwinter in Antarctica used to be required to have their appendix removed since they couldn't be evacuated during the dead of winter and obviously there would be no one else there who could remove an appendix. NASA likely would like to avoid the possibility of zero-g appendix surgery entirely, regardless if the crew member is the surgeon or not, so requiring everyone to get a appendectomy might be needed.
As an aside, a Russian surgeon serving on a ship in the southern Pacific near Antarctic waters once had to remove his own appendix as they were too far away from any medical facility he could be evacuated to. Since he was performing the surgery on himself, he couldn't use any anesthetic. The entire surgery had to be done using a mirror so he could see his own intestines.

Given all the various things that can go wrong with the female reproductive system beyond just the chance of pregnancy, maybe they all should have hysterectomies. They're career women so babies aren't likely part of their plan anyway. They can freeze eggs just in case they someday change their mind and go with a surrogate. Given the radiation exposure during a Mars mission, freezing eggs or sperm and then being rendered sterile probably is a good policy anyway.

        >Finally, here it is, the cursed appendage! With horror, I notice the dark stain at its base. That means just a day longer and it would have burst and… At the worst moment of removing the appendix, I flagged: my heart seized up and noticeably slowed; my hands felt like rubber. Well, I thought, it’s going to end badly. And all that was left was removing the appendix… And then I realized that, basically, I was already saved”.
Still more fun than a burst appendix.

Last month the all female crew was blasted into space to spend 18 months onboard the four man Mars vessel, but it was revealed that a 25 year old Chad was also placed on board by mistake, and is now trapped, alone in space with the women. A spokesman said "this is the one thing we did'nt want to happen"
