Big disappointment after the sora leaks imo. If they’re building products like these now, then what happened to AGI? Is it even further off than previously promised?

Sam already said they're rolling out improvements incrementally going forward instead of big sweeping releases like GPT-4 and Sora because people literally can't handle it (and no one can compete with them to force them to do otherwise).

Microsoft came and pumped them with the dollars, which in turn was spent on Azure compute, which in turn supercharged their progress. Not even Google can keep up now. Do you see the pattern?

Jesus Christ completely transformed the moral, political, cultural landscape of the world, upending the "might makes right" pagan ethos of the Roman empire, inspiring movements like the medieval Peace and Truce of God, abolition of slavery, universal human rights, charity as a moral duty and so on. Sam Altman made some tech companies, still unclear how impactful and beneficial in the long run, so far I'm not impressed. In 2001 there were very few models of phones with even keyboards, they were almost all keypad only. A lot of the resistance, at least in my opinion, comes from the fact that it appears to be yet another thing that being championed under the "It is the next big thing, because it just is, okay!" style of marketing. Everything is presented like that now, and its exhausting. Furthermore adding the exhausting is the that there is absolutely no room for any kind of nuance, everything must be 110% good or bad, nothing in between. It gets old dealing with that constantly.
