now you ditch Arch and reinstall with CachyOS, it is way better Arch than just bare Arch, with their own optimized kernels therefore blazingly fast

You can build linux kernel on any distro.

        Anonymous

make your own distro better than cachyos and i will maybe try, until then i will use cachyos

        >CachyOS repository
CachyOS repositories offer optimized packages for x86-64-v3 and x86-64-v4 architecture. We take the Arch Linux packages and rebuild them with mach=x86-64-v3/v4 and other performance-focused flags, ensuring stability and security for our custom packages.

        >linux-cachyos kernels
By default, CachyOS utilizes the linux-cachyos kernel, which is fine-tuned by the CachyOS team to prioritize performance, responsiveness, and overall smoothness of the operating system.

anon... the whole point of gentoo is you compile everything yourself
there is no v3/v4 repos because that only applies to prebuilt binary packages. you build packages in gentoo to whatever specification you want, it's customary to simply build native binaries, meaning binaries optimised for your specific cpu, which is even more specific than v3/v4

no you are moronic, point me to gentoo x86-64-v4 repository

to compile it myself is not the answer, sorry but I am not compiling anything myself i dont have time for that shit. There are updates every while and im not recompiling billion things every fricking week, nobody has time for this

You can compile stuff overnight, moron.

despite this being a moronic question, gentoo actually has x86-64-v3 on binhosts: https://www.gentoo.org/news/2024/02/04/x86-64-v3.html

I'd go exploring! You *could* get a display driver like X11 (old and bloat) or Wayland (unstable) but I'd just stick with the TUI and use display buffers for stuff like mpv, its a good way to keep your system clean. Assuming you chose Artix because you didn't want the *bloat* of systemd, I'd check the suckless rocks page along with the installgentoo minimalist software page for software to install. Remember to have fun 🙂
