some like small buttons and some like large. Nothing wrong with either since some desktops have small buttons and some have large buttons. All buttons deserve love.

Are KDE themes really able to run code like that? I thought it would mostly just be images and markup text like CSS.

Only global themes. For some reason

That's not even a bug, themes uses qml files that can run a lot of stuff, you can even ask for root permissions (the user will be prompted).

You are pretty much downloading a 3rd party app from an unknown source, so yeah, 3rd party apps can remove files where it has write permissions.

I hope this thing doesn't evolve in a lets exchange customization for "security" cause I had enough when firefox killed itself with quantum.

A warning would be nice, I suppose. I don't care about themes, but if I did, I'd like to know that I'm basically browsing Flathub. All it says is
      >The content available here has been uploaded by users like you, and has not been reviewed by your distributor for functionality or stability.
      rather than
      >These things are basically shell scripts and if you click [Install] you're a fricking moron.

        >The content available here has been uploaded by users like you.
        This is 3rd party software
        >has not been reviewed by your distributor for functionality
We don't know what it does.
        >or stability
        Or if it a bugfest.

But yeah, the warning could be better.

but i thought linux is immune to malware?

Software needs to work, software need to be able to write and modify files, so user installed software can, of course, wipe your data on every directory it has write permissions.

Definitely not the first time there's malware at that godawful site. If I ever run scripts from there, I'll check it first
