I use real-debrid and stremio instead. Werks, no need for lots of storage or a server (as long as what you need is piracy)

Same but I live in a free country so i don't need debrid.

I mostly use debrid because it's pretty much instant, but if torrents were just as fast I'd dl them raw too, since I'm also in a free country

Shit is dummy comfy but if I didn't already have a home server I would recommend just paying for a Plex share: https://plexshares.github.io

Oh yeah and Plexamp is incredible

      >PAYING for piracy
defeats the whole point of it now doesn't it?

I get your point but not really. It's like $10 to have access to every single movie and TV show that has ever existed with no maintenance or infrastructure required on yoir part. Worth it in my opinion.

      >he doesn't know
Just be careful not to share to too many people. They shut down shares for that.

only if you sell access, sharing isn't agaisnt the ToS but selling access is
i have about three dozen users on mine without issue. theu've never shut down individuals unless they were selling and usually the only block the VPS they use, never ban the user outright

It's not just selling, HUNO/HONE was shut down and they didn't sell anything. They admittedly had far more than 3 dozen users though, it was at least a couple hundred.

Does plex still have a player that uses mpv?

I have Plex running, just to play my own downloads via roku in my living room. Works great. Pity the TV apps for Jellyfin are so unpolished by comparison.

this. plex just werks. 2x Roku and my audio books on the go though mobile.

I run Jellyfin on an Amazon fire stick and it works perfectly, don't have to worry about TV compatibility/setup if I take it elsewhere

your synfonyium dev is literally a plebbitor that tells users to refer to plebbit threads for issues.

would you say windows or RHEL are bad because you pay to use your hardware?

Yeah, it just works. Jellyfin and Kodi weren't nearly as simple and I value my time.

idk I pay like $10/mo for a seedbox and all I had to do to use jellyfin instead was enable it on the dashboard. worth it. I can get like 10 4k rips in 5 minutes. I also make randoms I know irl accounts and let them use it for free if they promise to cancel a streaming service.

      >let them use it if they promise to cancel a streaming service
That's genius, well done anon. I can't do that anymore since I already let people I know well use it for free, but I wish I had thought of that.

nice, less money for those streaming services to create more content, solid plan

        >less goyslop
        >bad thing

I am not an absolute ideologue, sometimes its best to let normies have their marvel bullshit. but don't act like a streaming service has ever produced quality content. if they cannot trick enough idiots into paying for bullshit its not my problem and I will continue to provide my frens with free content while you seethe.

I use jellyfin, always heard plex has downsides

The biggest one is you have to pay if you want to access your media online, outside your network.

Jellyfin is the best if you're starting now.
A lot of people bought Plex lifetime licences a decade ago and are just using that.
Back then Jellyfin didn't exist and Emby is even more israeli than Plex ever was.

I had Plex, I even have a lifetime pass but I saw the writing on the wall and switcted to Jellyfin around a year ago. JF is still missing some features compared to Plex but I don't have to worry about getting sold down the river. I do miss Plexamp though.

I have a tiny low power usage pc with an 8tb HDD set up as a NAS and media server running emby 24/7
I have 4 roku devices in the house connected to it, but i have not yet tested playing on more than one device at once

Plex is for people with brain damage that think setting up a media server is "a hassle."
