People saying Pi's are useless are brain dead boomers.
          I've used my pi's for:
-Pihole (been on and running since the 4 came out)
-3D Printer server, allowed me to send gcode off to be printed and had other shit like a live feed of prints, progress pics, etc.
-I setup a trail-cam type thing using a usb webcam, a pi, a battery pack and some software I found on github (which I think Ring uses), with options to store clips locally, to the cloud or both.

I'd like to do something with Apple car play, but I haven't had the time yet.

I think you mean 1200p. 16:9 is a gayBlack person ratio and it's criminally bad between 720p to 1080p. 1920x1200 is the ideal 24" widescreen size.

sorry IQfy but this is an absolute wrong take. I wont say it's moronic but it just isnt reality. I was on team "just use two monitors" and I would be if it was viable but a big issue when it comes to buying PC parts and accessories is that you have to buy what is available and right now the most abundant and affordable monitors that arent HUGE or just flat out TVs (40" and up) are ultrawides. I wanted to buy new monitors for my setup and anything that wasnt an ultrawide was some shitty monitor meant to be used in wagie offices. This was the case in 2015 when I first built my PC but it is now. Just like everyone who complains about RGB on everything, its really hard to find computer hardware that has none that isnt corpo garbage.

it's really not hard to find 4k 16:9 27in monitors. they're the best common monitor you can get right now. ideally we would have 220ppi 3:2 27in displays by now but alas the world is not perfect. ultrawides were invented to get people to accept low pixel density displays as the future when the industry should have been following apple's lead into high density, even on their low end 24in 4.5k imac

I didn't care enough about the extra cores for the extra price, since I'm just doing cloud shit and most of my work is through web interfaces or tmux, and I have a separate rig for SD/gaming.

The battery life is decent on linux (Arch/KDE), but I hear it's better on windows. The best part is it's almost completely silent and never gets hot unless I'm running stress in a terminal for shits and giggles.

After the total inability for intel to produce any sort of properly thermal managed laptop CPU for the last decade the fact that I don't hear a fan running 24/7 is very refreshing.

for me it's the opposite, still wish it had 3.5mm, but I have the 512gb model, I'll never need more storage. and plugging in a flash drive is easier than finding a sim eject tool to get to the sd. sd did save me when I drowned my lg g6 but all my photos were on the sd so I didn't lose any. I have current phone setup to upload my pics to local network whenever it's charging so that solves the loss/failure issue. regardless they did not have to remove the sd slot and it's a downgrade

I really don't get Samsung as a brand.
Apple is literally the high society status symbol for dumb people and prostitutes. It became this brand by only being that.
Meanwhile Samsung has the same brand as ACs, Fridges, Washing Machines, TVs and other non expensive items.

Why would I ever buy a Samsung Galaxy SXX over Pixel or Oneplus?

I tried that mouse too, and it gave me pain on a completely different area. Plus, the base is so narrow that if used without a "cushiony" mouse pad, it's easy to lift it from a side. Still not a true regret since it was cheap.

My only recent regret is buying one of those HMD Nokia nostalgia dumbphones without KaiOS. Not only the hardware was awful, but the OS was a bad joke trying to pass itself as an S40. It was missing so much stuff that it was like when in a cartoon the big mansion happens to be a cardboard cutout and there's a tiny shack behind it. Shit, I have seen "senior phones" with much better build quality and a far more usable Interface.

Desperately hoping for either the deckard meme to become real this year or for samsung to release that rumored full Android VR headset so I have an excuse to dick around with VR development on them otherwise I might actually go back to windows to do it. The only way out I see that doesn't involve my wallet being bled dry is if valve decides to port their Steam VR Link driver over to linux.

      Anonymous

There is no drivers for Linux for quest? I guess that should be expected.

I'm doing VR dev with Index and it just werks on Linux. I still mostly use windows because all the VR stuff are usually made with it in mind.
Also VR dev is something everyone should try that complains about "falling for VR meme" on IQfy. I spend significantly more time developing stuff for VR than actually playing anything. Being able to immerse yourself into your own creation is not something you can often do when programming.

Its kinda like a hardware/software swiss knife. Can pick up and send back radio, infrared signals, serve as a shitty mouse/keyboard, be used as a badUSB and some stuff more.
As with a regular swiss knife it'll generally under perform compared to a use-specific case(the reviewer I saw compared it with a regular card reader and radio/chip one and it did more poorly than the radio/chip reader but about as well as the card thing) but comes with the plus of being more compact.
May come in handy if you have a need of one of its builtin use cases but generally a specific device will likely be better
Supposedly its also very moddable and with custom firmware/hardware it can perform better but if one is willing to go that way I dunno what makes it better than a regular raspberry pi

    My 2019 xiaomeme

I still use it and I will continue to do until it dies, but after it does I don't know what phone without notch will be available on the market. It seems that Sony is the only brand using their brain in the design process for now.

Unironically just use the regular old double edge safety razor. And don't buy those "special" ones from online retailers, that's a waste of money.
Four Gillette Mach 3 cartridges = about 20 dollars, minimum 16 on sale.
Five Gillette safety razor blades = slightly more than 1 dollar.
So a single razor blade is about 20 cents, while a single cartridge is around five dollars, 500 cents.
If I hypothetically use the double edge blades only once, the equivalent would be using a cartridge blade twenty five times. And they get dull just as fast as the double edge blades.
Here's the thing: I do use the double edge blades only once, as I don't give a frick. It's dirt cheap and I get a clean shave every single time. The single blade is actually simpler to use, and it's much easier to achieve the Ascended level of smooth shave, for when you want to woo the females.

It's the blades that matter the most obviously, but I find these cheapest Gillette platinum ones work fine; I tried a few more expensive ones, there wasn't any difference.
As for the razor itself, I do recommend you get a steel one; I had a plastic one for a few months which I got for around 10 bucks, then I lost it on vacation and I bought a steel razor for around 20 bucks on sale. The weight actually makes a difference, it's easier to just let the blade slide across your skin, which is how you should shave, not with pressure, that's how you get cuts. Ofc you have to apply some pressure, but it should be as little as possible, and the way you achieve this is by always using a fresh sharp blade and a good steel razor.

This isn't cheap if you use costly blades which give a good close shave for a couple weeks. Here a pack of 30 feather cost around 10 eurobucks, which is app. a month of daily usage.

True, it depends from guy to guy in the end. I only shave every couple of days, so let's say 15 Gillette platinums which cost 5 dollars at most last me a month. In the end it is much cheaper than cartridges no matter how you look at it. And it gives a better shave. I was complimented by both male and female friends.

    >want more HDD space, build a rather elabreNAS and set up a cheap 10G network with used gear.

It's mounted on arm. You can't move monitor past the arm. Arm is on the edge of the table.

the thing that put me off the flipper was that the devs shoehorned in weebshit and cartoons.
no-one gives a shit about your entire personality it just makes it look like tacky shit. it’s a small gripe but generally makes these people fricking insufferable. home brew devs are the worst for it.

IQfy was right for once, picrel is a literal Fisher Price toy. Such a useless fricking doohickey. You don't even feel like you "own" it. Also I regret buying a gaming PC, there are no games and now I mostly use it to browse IQfy

the worst use case for an iPad is a media consumption toy. Its strength is really as work tool, POS terminal, controlling pad for lights or sound or other software things that like that

It's a gucci fisher price toy. The only thing good about it is Procreate, and you still have to export to desktop PS for finishing. Otherwise it isn't even good for youtube toilet time or porn because you can't block ads.

You know what. I don't think I have any fricking buyer's remorse at all. I LOVE doing research, price comparing, tracking down real consumer reviews etc. Every part in every system I've owned has served me well.
