Quitting literature

After 9 years of regularly posting here and reading hundreds of pages of difficult prose every week with no regard for my professional career or personal wellbeing i just realized i have nothing meaningful to say about any book whatsoever so i have decided to quit literature for good. Hopefully videogames and film are still within my reach.
Goodbye my friends. It is too late for me but maybe not for you.

Quitting literature doesn't involver quitting this board though

My apologies, you make a good point. Take a break for some time, maybe read something less difficult and more fun. I am used to this prompt that comes in the way of a sort of 'quitting' thread, and inevitably the op is back the next day. The French write some really good fiction, sometimes I like to read that as a sort of break but nothing wrong with other media if you need a break.

What straw broke the camel's back? That is, did any particular book make you realize That's it, Enough?

          No. I just got older

Then why did (you) bid good-bye?

Yeah, we know. You'll just join the ranks of the hundreds of other morons using this board as a personal toilet. Posting bait or coom webms is a better use of your time, right anon? Maybe a bit of react content made for other platforms like tiktok, or perhaps a xitter screencap if you're feeling particularly adventurous...think of the possibilities!

It takes balls of steel to say this shit knowing full well that you gonna get trolled for it, I do not stand in any side in your choice but i think stating that you're leaving a board only means you gonna come back tomorrow, Leaving a thing means that you hate it but liking it only keeps that "i want to come back". It seems you have an internal battle where you want so badly to stay but in the same time you want to leave.

But it all comes down to Socrates's "I'm not Wise", Because it all leads to the dead end, Make the best out of life.

i don't find any fiction outside of video games interesting anymore. no other medium can compare
    >watch real movies
yeah i've seen most major arthouse directors like bergman and whoever, it's not as good

        >the latest coomer jrpg
The fact that you have to state this belies your lack of confidence in your convictions. You know, on some level, the vidya is the most all encompassing medium with the largest potential of anything yet devised, so you have to bring up something so obviously frivolous like that to dismiss the topic.

Why do you feel you need to have to say something deep or interesting about what you read? Reading itself is a pleasure, and even those brief moments of lucidity, that you'll undoubtedly forget, are worth it.

That's what life is for most people anon. You do something for 10 years, realize it meant nothing and there's nothing new to say about it, and then do something else for 10 years only to come to the exact same realization. And you do that until you die.

    The curse of the midwit.
You might consider writing down short reviews of what you read so you can remind yourself why you liked or disliked something later and at least pretend to have something to say about all that stuff you read.

I get the same feeling from reading the news. I read everything, forget everything, then read some more news. I never talk with anyone else about anything but the major stuff. Why do I even try
