    Thoughts on Batuman? I hate how she titles her books after classics, but I've heard some okay things about her.

    Also, I'd suggest thrifting some books. A lot of these books are ubiquitous so it'll safe you a lot of money.

        seeing you like americans maybe your melvilles or hawthornes would be good place to start. Maybe get more into modernism before the postmo, or tryna get into other small genres that captivate your interest. I’ve found reading other lit before the postmo made me appreciate them more or not
