ARM is still using 128-bit SIMD. x86 moved onto 256-bit SIMD like a decade ago and recently to 512-bit SIMD.

What's the benefit in going back to outdated 128-bit SIMD?

      > two more weeks, guys! industry will abandon x86 for garbage chips that aren't even on the same level or same architecture
the absolute state of computer illiterate Black folk of this website. truly unbelievable.

      there's no benefit.

OrangePi is great. Even their Allwinner shitboxes got mostly mainline support

Still waiting for the PHY ethernet on the OrangePi Zero 2W to get fixed in mainline.

I need a wired connection through the expansion card, and it is broken in the mainline kernel right now.

this. if you want to have a free as in freedom computer, risc-v is the best choice. ive got myself a starfive visionfive 2 and its great.

        hows the graphics support?
        ffmpeg works?

supposedly it has a 3d-graphic chip, but i never tried anything too intensive on it. will make a risc-v gaming thread, if i found anything remarkable.

Did the open sauce video delivers for the RK3588 get merged into the linux kernal yet?

Okay so the gpu drivers are merged
    https://www.collabora.com/news-and-blog/news-and-events/release-the-panthor.html
But complete support for each specific sbc using the RK3588/s is still a bit spotty.

      > releases sbc
      > Black folk programming it and managing it have no idea how the SoC works
      > literal no idea
      > basic functionality is n/a
and yet another example of why these projects are a fricking joke. here's a radical idea for those releasing shitty projects:
have everything working before you release cancer. not complicated. don't post online, don't shill, shut the frick up and finish your project before releasing it.

    >IQfy NEETs seethe about x86 and jerk off to ARM
    >their x86 e-waste eventually dies
    >their moms buy them the cheapest locked-down cloudbooks 2030 edition with e-cores and locked bootloaders
    >ACK

I'm shilling ARM because it's the best option for nice and small home server

Keep in mind that unlike us, most IQfy people are unemployed and don't have money to spend on a development board (thats the reason they shill 10$ ancient thinkcenters in every hardware thread), therefore if ARM takes over the market, they will have to beg their moms to buy them the cheapest possible arm netbooks that will not allow them to install loonix/deadshitos, run emulators for retrooning or anything in that matter. Therefore they are rolling the whip on themself out of their own stupidity.
