What's there to housefire in a concrete room? Where do you think I keep my home servers and UPSs? In a dedicated room in the basement of course.

Why would I sleep in a small blank concrete room dedicated for servers and UPSs?

because you're a NEET and your parents don't mind as long as their failure of a son sits in his basement and they can pretend that at the age of 47 he doesn't still live with them.

            Why would you assume that?

because I live in my own house and keep computers in a well ventilated attic instead of warming up my basement

The attic gets far hotter in summer, even with ventilation. Might only be colder in the winter, the basement is more stable and also ironically dryer.
The basement room is literally bare concrete in a level 2 basement floor and still has regulatable ventilation, even though on hot summer days the air is far warmer than the cooling effect of the room itself (it's a room that was designed for passive keeping of bulk food that doesn't require active cooling).

Even if I would have picked the attic, it would have made for worse cable management and accessibility, since the attic is above the second floor, which I mostly don't even use and requires a ladder, while I can just take stairs from the level 1 basement to level 2. Plus it actually is a fireproof room, around 40cm of concrete on all sides and routing network and power cables across the house was much easier from there.

I don't need to fireproof anything because I don't believe in using faulty UPSes

Based. I don't know why people buy things that break when they can just buy things that don't break

Never had a single issue either, they are actually enterprise gear, but it's still a nice thought, yet not the reason I use the basement room, just a plus.
I don't even think the UPSes themselves would be able to be a fire hazard, they are all metal construction and the batteries are external.

Need to replace my UPS. What are you using?

even if you are reasonably rich you probably just use solar panels with a battery in 3rd world countries.

Here in germany we have power shutdowns every 10 years for an hour or so... Even then most modern houses use solar panels with a battery that can still power the house for some time.

Sorry about WW2. He was right about everything.

The reason we enjoyed a pajeet free internet before 2010s arrived was because indians didn't have smartphones. Now they do, and it's getting worse. Internet will become increasingly third worldist as africans and other assorted hominids manage to find their way here. Get ready to filter ethiopian and nigerian tech tubers when looking for product reviews or how-to guides. They'll put their video titles in english but speak in their gobbledyasiatic zulu languages just like indians do now on youtube.

We have really steady power but it still goes out here a few times a year. Earthquakes, mainly.
