Ruby

I still use it, do you? If so, why?
I'm feeling nostalgic for its era.

Just find it comfy for random programming task, calculations, interactive fricking around. Enjoy the syntax. So I use it often, despite not being paid by my job for it.

ruby was synonymous with bearded hipsters writing ruby on rails applications while drinking onions-based craft beer.

      they're completely different.
Perl is productivity first, and the code quality doesn't matter.
Ruby is sugar-obsessed for "user friendly code", so the language design, and how you use it, revolves around that.
      Anyway, abandon both, install Elixir.

How to function programming if i'm moronic?

Elixir is very beginner-friendly, (being a web-focused language and all).
If you can understand UNIX-style piping , you'll have little issue picking up its ideas.

And of course, the very good Phoenix framework for full-stack stuff.

Because my largest client has an ancient Rails app but they aren't technical enough to understand why it's bad but also also don't have enough money to pay me to rewrite it even if they did
