software is unverifiable, only way is to physically annihilate the NAND chips

Because you can't remove the storage and verify all contents were actually removed. This goes for ANY computer with soldered storage (ie apple's macbooks with iPhone CPUs).

Best you can really do is max out the storage with random files after a factory wipe like other anon said but even then there might have been some kind of hidden record created by the OS it won't let you erase with screenshots/audio/video snippets.

Just remember that ARM created this nightmare scenario and to support the x86 steam deck phone or similar when it comes out.

Then enjoy soldered storage with hidden partitions that can only be accessed by the feds I guess. If we're lucky we'll have another vault 7 leak.

Why do you care about the state of the industry? I don't give a shit about normies having keyloggers-as-features, all I care about is having an alternative I can jump away to. If enough autists buy the 'tismphone, it will survive as a niche product - which is all that matters.

In short both AMD and intel have been struggling with phone ~5W max phone TDPs required for phones because you end up having to get rid of AVX2, a SIMD extension that allows software to run well on just 2 CPU core instead of 8+ without AVX2, which lazy Black person devs absolutely love on top of x86 compilers auto-vectorizing for AVX2 itself. Thus all the atoms/celerons/athlons around 5W TDP have been absolutely dogshit for the past decade.

Intel has alder lake N (2 AVX2 CPU cores at 6W max) now and AMD is neglecting their ultra low power athlons otherwise they should be able to do 4 AVX2 CPU cores at 6W max I think.

Phones are very odd in the way they work.
You can get shell access through fastboot and maybe there's a way to remove everything from the system partition (you must mount it btw) but it's all incredibly gay.

Just factory reset it. All data is encrypted. Don't think it is possible to recover data from encrypted storage that has been wiped.
But if you think government or something is after you with access to secret backdoors, then
    delete everything manually
    fill storage with random files
    factory reset

if you ever used lineage you'd be aware of that

Still no source about google stealing your data and saving it in their data centers.
With apple it's obvious, you're forced to use their shitty apple cloud. With android, you don't have to use any cloud service.
            >but muh google account
            Google drive is optional.

google account is mandatory to even get basic functions like gps working without 15mins waiting without google play services, just a try a fricking real open source android (aosp build like lineage) and see how much is open and usable, dialer app from 5 years ago etc etc, you are the product zoomie you always was, but go aheas and defend daddy googol kys moron

no need for cloud backup account, gms calls home all the time, is this person allowed to isr x app, are we disolaying proper ads for mentization, notifications, gps addons like wifi based location holy frick you're dense

            Anonymous

I didn't say anything about being safe. My point is: you don't need google drive to use android. You need account, sure, but you can disable any backups for drive.
What you're implying is that google copies all your data from your phone (images, videos etc) to their data centers.
Don't you think over the years someone would have already noticed that? Some autistic security researcher monitoring his internet traffic with his phone connected to wifi?
Post source, any source, google does this. And try not to move goalposts again.

            >it's because you need an account!!!
Yes, he's right. Degoogling your phone is a huge effort, 99% of things don't work if you don't send all your data to google at all times. At best you can use microG (a google play store emulator) and get some things running, but be ready for apps to randomly crash and whatnot.
Android is not open source, quite clearly google regrets opening the code. As the other anon said, AOSP is completely abandoned and there's not a single phone on the market that uses it. They're all "AOSP-based", which could mean anything.

If it were all fun and free, this thread wouldn't exist. Android's partition system is incredibly convoluted and purposefully obscured (see: BLOBs), which is why you can't just "gparted -> format" the thing.

Post evidence google copies your data (photos, videos etc) to their data centers without your permission.

    Only actual answer here
Delete all your files and overwrite them with junk.

just deleting your files doesn't actually remove them from your device, they just get marked as writable and can be recovered with the right tools
