this. It's not that simple. You can't just buy a stock before a product comes out. You have to truly be ahead of everyone else and predict that something good will happen to X company.

I sort of agree with this, but not every investor has complete knowledge of all stocks. A subset of investors are likely clueless of Nintendo’s new product, and another subset is aware of an upcoming release, but perhaps not aware of the implications.

This works both ways though, it could be overpriced right now

it is that simple. depending on how successful or unsuccesful the launch is the stock will rise or drop. The market probably expects the launch to be moderatetely succesfuö so if it ends up being moderateöy succesful the stock price wont change very much

I don't know, it feels like most people haven't really processed the ramification what a new console from Nintendo really means. I think once it gets actually announced and it's specs are shown people might have a bigger reaction.
Also with Microsoft most definitely leaving the console market soon the what a "switch 2" means will be a lot different to most people.

No guarantees in life. Sony used to make successful consoles now they don't. PSP was a hit Vita was a flop. Wii was a hit Wii U was a flop. There's more competition in the handheld space now than there was in 2016. Don't assume that switch 2 will have same level of success (not saying it won't btw just that it's not a sure thing)

I'd wish they have this time actual modern specs on it. I dont care about portability.

Rumor is it's on the same level as a ps4, though that hard to verify right now.

Hmm, I’d say yeah, if you have more capital. Or try something like sharkroll presale if not, these are always a great way to multiply your funds and proceed

Nintendo has a tendency to drop the ball hard after having a successful console, but they’re lucky Sony and Microsoft have seemingly dropped out of the running this gen.
Unlike the Switch, Nintendo won’t have a large backlog of Wii U games that few people played and made for easy porting onto the new console this time.

this gen? the switch 2 is just catching up to ps5 and whatever the xbox is called now. steamdeck is more of a competitor anyway

dude they charge full price for their launch switch titles still, and switch is likely going to become #1 console of all time. Clearly you have no idea how good the switch is, and it can be modded. The thing is extremely well made too like all Nintendo consoles.

The switch really was one of the most dominate console of all time and it's running on tech equivalent to ps3.

Nintendo has been consistent with the success of their handheld units. Even the 3DS did well despite everyone crying gloom and doom about the mobile boom.

I have also been eyeing Nintendo OP. They have a MASSIVE moat in terms of intellectual property. Anime and jap culture in general is growing every year too. They’re basically becoming a new Disney plus Sony/Xbox or whatever.

I would refrain from investing in anything related to gaming directly. Vidya is in a weird place right now, industry as whole is weird, with the dull moves sony been doing to nintendo making a most likely fun console with a gimmick but pretty underwhelming in power (as always). Xbox releasing exclusives now on ps5 and pc, and ubisoft stepping into blockchain? As I said, weird, maybe big budget companies are trying to make money exploring new terrain, maybe be a direct competitor to superverse the only gamefi project to be actually doing something.

    Weird.

Videogame industry is dying because the west is dying. There's a reason why most of the bangers in the last decade have all been by Japanese devs.

Also most of the good games coming from the west are indies for a reason. Think about it.

We all know what's happening, it's just that no one wants to say it.

isn't every 2nd nintendo console usually with terrible sales and -40% plummetting stocks?

Why would this time be any different? Nintendo got extremely lucky with a market of manchildren with the switch and many people bought it for Zelda and Mario.

Many people, myself included, bought the switch and realised it's a shitty console for children. This is fresh in many peoples minds.

Give it another 10 years before those manchildren are truly hungry to buy a day 1 childrens console to relive their glory days again.

Nintendo is one of the best companies in the world, it's always a good time to buy but it probably won't make you much money short term.
