It's obviously too late for you but for EVERYONE ELSE ITT:

Frick the loans. FAFSA, Pell Grants, Scholarships. NO, it won't be handed to you on a silver platter for free and I don't mean monetarily. Fricking put in the work for that shit, especially the scholarships.

morons think you HAVE to take out a loan.

Meanwhile here I am working with SonicWall, Meraki, and Cisco hardware as a networking with zero (0) dollars in debts with not a PENNY taken out in loans. None.

And no I didn't get Mommy and Daddy money to get a "kickstart". In fact, the poor income level actually benefits you in these situations.

Oh I get it now, clown world I guess, haha.

because they're fricking stupid and don't know that you can get grants, and scholarships. The only caveat is you have to keep up good grades to remain qualified. You EARN it.

Same. Pell grants gave me a free ride in tuition. Still had to work retail through college but that was nothing.
As soon as I was at the end of my second year I started applying to internships everyday and got one after a couple months. Then did the same thing my last semester and got a job.
No debt. Remote work. Max comfy.

It really helps when you have no safety nets. Walmart wasn't gonna pay for my own place and I didn't want to work there for much longer by that point. I would either have to stick with Walmart and make peanuts, live on the streets, or apply to tons of places everyday.
I didn't get the luxury of being able to go back to my parents and laze around for a year after graduating.
I also went through a ton of avenues that led to nothing in my job search. But that's just how it is. Career fairs, college career center, various websites, etc. What ended up working the best was just LinkedIn. That's how I got to job, but thats not to say that those other things don't work.

The only people who legitimately have trouble finding jobs after college (among those with actual useful degrees) are the ones who put in the absolute bare minimum to graduate.
We're talking sub-3.0 GPA, never went to a single office hours session, never went to a single career fair, never built any connections. They just expected that as soon as they got that piece of paper the job offers would automatically start flowing in.
Even if you fricked up and put in the bare minimum, most schools have career offices for alumni. I am routinely baffled by the amount of people who spend months, sometimes years job searching on LinkedIn and Indeed who have never even attempted to use the resources they are paying tens of thousands of dollars for.
    >So how do you avoid being this guy?
Actually give a shit. Start planning out your career before you graduate. Talk to your professors. Go to career fairs and talk to recruiters. Join clubs. Apply for internships and work-study jobs. Do anything other than sit on your ass for 4 years straight.

You're overthinking the situation here. EVERY goddamn idiot is getting a four-year CS degree (the average CS curriculum being a fricking joke now) or going to "coding bootcamp" to learn how to mash web frameworks together. The industry wanted a job market full of fungible idiots, and that's exactly what we ended up with. Tech companies were hiring people they didn't need left and right, and now their free money wells have dried up.
The only unsurprising thing about this whole mess is that it took so damn long for the bubble to pop.

american education system is an embarrassing farce that gets no support from the government, which is why many universities have valuable sports programs where they sell rights to college basketball and football to gambling corporations.
