So I just upgraded to Win11. What's the big deal you autists keep crying about? The interface facelift is nice.

You can move it to the left in settings if you want.
I'm not using Windows currently, but for me the file manager was a downgrade compared to Windows 10, it was dumbed down for no reason.

Centre alignment is horrible because Start keeps moving around depending on how many other tasks are pinned or open. Also, left alignment allows you to click the bottom left pixel to open Start. I always set alignment to left

As said, the interface is nice, but W10 was much more responsive. On a high end and recent machine, it's fine, but it would have been even more responsive if it was as fast as W10.
The worst thing to me is the right clic. I don't understand how they succeeded to make it soooo slow.

    Here's my thoughts.
    >I moved the taskbar to the left immediately
    >forced TPM is fricking cancer
    >white theming is shit, but night mode makes it digestable
    >I liked the win 8 tiles start menu, I'm sad it's gone but I'm pretty sure i'm the only one
    >Who the frick thought making the icons smaller in the taskbar was a good idea? Awful
    >Download bar that was the full tile in win 7/8/10 is now miniscule and unreadable shit.
    >SO much fricking space wasted on padding and rounded corners everywhere. Idk if it was apple or samsung or google who started rounding corners on everything, but it's the fricking worst paradigm. I would shoot the designer who started it with 0 hesitation.
    >New window animations are quite nice, on minimize, restore, shrink, expand windows, etc.
    >New scroll bars are visually better, but functionally worse, scroll wheels invalidate the function mostly though
    >Haven't touched copilot yet, not sure what I'd use it for atm
    >tabs in file browser is a notable improvement
    >Right click menu is annoying that 7zip can't natively be there
    >New lockscreen is worse
    >Updated window snapping is nice, though powertoys did it already
    >Feels a little quicker, but may be placebo
Overall, it's not awful. It's not an improvement in most areas, but I don't much care.
It does the job I need it to.

I also liked that. I also liked the windows phone, and was sad that the whole thing got canceled. I probably used a lumia 620 or something for two years. One of my favorite phones, but app support was terrible.

We generally prefer the previous release of anything over the current one. For example, we like Windows 10 now. But when 10 was new, we preferred 7, and so on. Once the rumored 12 comes out, we’ll like 11. But until then, you just gotta hold the line and do the usual shit. You can get 10 with all the Russian “de-bloat” gimmicks and pretend to turn off telemetry, but 11 just isn’t cool enough for that yet.

      >Once the rumored 12 comes out, we’ll like 11
no, the trend you're referring to implies that "we'll" like 12. Did you forget that 8/8.1 existed? I wouldn't blame you, but that further reinforces my point.

    Buy an ad.

I don't want Copilot. AI is a gimmick that is only useful for automating boring work.
I don't want my OS to be a browser. The start menu is written in React.
I don't want my OS eating up more than a gigabyte on idle, even if I have lots of ram to spare.

If you work at Microsoft pass this along to the development team:
I want a simple barebones OS, using one GUI toolkit that is fast and reliable. Even normies are starting to hate Windows, Linux is becoming more and more usable as a desktop by the day.

10 was shit as well. Required tweaking to be decent. Win11 fixeda bunch of system timers that were "conveniently" broken at the end of Windows 10's lifespan.
