Wait till OP hears about "Zen of Python" or realises that checking out a project's CoC isn't checking out their cool clash of clans megabase but instead some troony-written anti hate speech elementary school writing

how is dry a meme? It's literally a thumb rule you tell juniors and it always applies. If you can not repeat your self dont repeat yourself. Its the foundation of the entirety of computer science. Everything is just layers of people trying to not repeat themselves.

when you aren't a junior anymore maybe you will realize that too much abstraction is actually a bad things sometimes

DRY was initially meant that you shouldn't be an absolute brainlet and copy-paste 23 if statements before you realize you could just use a map or a switch
Now people think it means "you should abstract everything away to make code absolutely unreadable including yourself in 2 months, because muh decoupling and muh modularization"

What does CRUD mean? I mean, logically, aren't all programs in the world CRUD? Why is it categorized specifically, does it refer to something else I don't know of?

      >What does CRUD mean
Create read update delete, referred to a set of resource You're managing. This could include users, posts, other entities. Colloquially it means nowadays that you have a database that you CRUD.
      >aren't all programs in the world CRUD
      No
It's refereed to it this way because they have very similar design patterns, most notably seen within REST API endpoints (GET/POST/PUT/DELETE)

Non crud programming can be literally anything else. Pipelines, scripts, simulations, OS and embedded, some areas of ML, etc etc etc.

There are alternative ways to persist data than just naively shitting stuff into a database or file.

There are alternatives to "place oriented" programming.
