They are to Napoleonic Wars what France was in WW2 yet these euromexicans somehow tricked themselves into thinking they were the winners.

This isn't even true but assuming it was this would change nothing because everyone know the spanish army was dogshit and the reason Napoleon army struggled in Spain was because of the population resistance which was much more important than anything the French did in WWII. Like something called guerilla warfare, you know. The numbers speak for themselves, 300,000 french solders died in Spain, it was the deadliest front for them besides Russia.

Why is every thread about the Napoleonic Wars that involves the UK and Spain founded on some "racist" viewpoint?

          >Source?
According to M. Clodfelter (2008): "Warfare and armed conflicts : A statistical encyclopedia of casualty and other figures." between ~180000 to ~240000 french soldiers died during the Peninsular War. And ~240000 were wounded to some capacity.

So we're already down to 180k from 300k huh? And that's some dumbass american who probably takes all numbers from historical accounts at face value because "it sounds cool"

I wasn't the Anon who posted the 300000 figure earlier - I simply gave you a source about the french casulties during the Peninsular War.
And casualty reports are a valid source, as those served the function of relying accurate information towards the respective armies about their strength and attrition.
Oh yeah, before I forget: where is your source that Spain only " won 1 (one) battle in the Peninsular War without English help"?

No. The battle which is considered to have been deadlier is Bailen and it was indeed the first major defeat of the grande armée in europe. Why stubbornly denying things virtually all historians agree on?

The french wiki also use this figure

German wiki is the more lenient for the spanish for some reason
It's hard to find a definitive account of casualties. the 1.000.000 figure of total casualties seem exaggerated though

Most pages actually don't even give any casualties figures. One thing is sure is that the French lost more men in the Iberian peninsula than anywhere else besides Russia.

Many regions ended up depopulated after the war, it was not exagerated, the frog troops started a failed try of ethnic cleansing since villagers answered with same levels of violence

There are 2 differences between Frogs and Spanish during these wars.
French surrended at the very first moment.
Spaniards wanted to fight til the last standing person but the Bourbon French kings surrended to Napoleon at the very first moment.

Quite unfair around 50% of spanish medieval/modern cultural and artistic legacy got destroyed or stolen because of Bourbons cowardy.
