if u double click an .exe made eespecially for people who cant into starting a python script, provided via DM on reddit because you cant into github, you are basically guaranteed to have your PC turned into a monero miner. and it'd be a fair price to pay.

            Anonymous

Sounds like you're just a c**t and will fill anything you feel isn't appreciated enough with viruses, including software you have to compile yourself.

            Anonymous

you dont have to compile a python script yourself, it simply does not need compiling. and if you're too moronic to understand that, and cannot read or comprehend a 200 word text of instructions of how you could make that .exe yourself if you truly wished, then you deserve to pay fees to the person who did that for you, in form of your PC mining. you also pay the your mechanic for installing new tires, and you'll even have to pay for the tires, so maybe stop crying when things that are available for free dont cater to your special needs and nobody cares

it only took them like 31 years to finally put a download link on their frontpage
        >its just the netinstall iso
lets see if I can find the full install disc...
        >you have to click "other downloads"
        >dont click the big blue link that reads "complete installation image:" - it will redirect you to a useless subpage
        >instead find literally the SMALLEST clickable link on the site
        >a file list is shown looking like an FTP
        >its so confusing, apparently, they put a large text block on top of the page explaining what file you need
        >the file you actually need isnt here
        >its just a .torrent file
        >also we dont call it "full installer" --- we call it "DVD image", "BT-DVD", or occasionally just "BD", because that is such a widely used technology
I guess they will keep calling their netinstaller "CD" and the full installer "DVD" until after the last optical disc drive has decayed to dust

catering to the lowest common denominator has been a disastrous strategy for computing and the greater world at large. you know why we've made barely any technological and societal advances in the past several decades? this is why. no mouthbreather left behind.
they will scream and wail and gnash their teeth-- using words given to them by agitators trying to incite chaos to create opportunities for their own profit-- about how its inequitable and unfair and inaccessible, but it's time to move past assuming the worst in your users and in others.
ignore the people too stupid to use your software or service. ignore the people too stupid to talk to you. ignore the people too stupid to live in your life. ignore the people too stupid to do anything. just ignore them.
if you do something they don't understand and they're mad about, and it actually works, you're doing something actually worth doing.

For many projects, the intersection of (people able to make meaningful use of the project) and (people unable or unwilling to build the project themselves) is very small or empty.
Meanwhile the intersection of (people unable or unwilling to build the project themselves) and (people likely to use github issues as tech support requests) is quite large.
The natural conclusion for a maintainer of that project to reach is: Don't bother releasing binaries.
