      *starts disconnecting in 2 hours*
      Nothing personal.

Whether they work depends on your phone and the adapter. I tried two different splitters and they only worked with passive adapters while charging. Maybe on some phones you can use active adapters and charge at the same time. There are also charging adapaters with 3.5 built in, haven't tried them.

        By definition, no

          Anonymous

I'd like to know the technical reason. Not talking about fast charging where the phone must negotiate with the charger, just regular charging which only needs 5V and ground.

            Anonymous

Actually I should've just written in general for phone adaptors, not by definition.
            >Not talking about fast charging where the phone must negotiate with the charger
In that case would have to restrict yourself to maximum USB3.1 power delivery: 5V, 900mA (4.5W) but that's not a huge problem.
The real issue is that by the definition of active your adaptor would have to consume 900mA at 5V and produce another supply at 5V up to 900mA, you can't just pass through this power otherwise its a passive adaptor. This is doable in a decent form factor with a decent cost but as soon as you start considering bidirectional power delivery it will easily double the number of components.
So basically it's just not worthwhile in a form factor suitable for phones with no real benefits.

If you've contracted brain rot and can't buy anything Apple because 'muh Apple bad' then Samsung's is only slightly worse.

Don't buy the godawful Google Pixel adapters, they're some of the worse you can buy.

OP's ugreen is an ALC4042, which are sort of meh, but they can decode DSD if you really need that (You don't, since DSD is mathematically proven to cause distortion, but if you've swallowed a whole tub of 'DSD GOOD, HIRES AUDIO NUMBA 1' pills, then it can do that.)

Custom roms other than LineageOS? It wasn't good enough for me. Maybe you got less sensitive ears (not a judgement) Do note that I'm talking about the note 3 or whatever. So maybe they fixed that somewhat but I frankly doubt it.

I'm using $25 in-ear monitors, so yeah I'm not gonna have the greatest sound quality no matter what kek. but I find my Redmi Note 10 Pro not bad sound-wise. I've definitely had phones with better audio (my old Meizu M3 Note was incredible for that) but I've also had a lot, lot worse (my Asus Padfone Infinity was probably the worst by far)
I'm currently using crDroid as my rom and I have the option at least (I'm still on default values because they're pretty sane out of the box)

This just looks like the regular phone limit to me. 100 steps. Windows for instance allows you to go 10k steps. This is on top of whatever DAC or volume control there is on your regular speakers. It has nothing to do with your earbuds. There's some great ones you can get for 20 bucks. I'm gonna assume it has gotten better in the decade since I got my phone. I had to put that shit on volume 2% because 1 was too soft, 2 being too loud.

            Anonymous

idk, last phone I had without custom roms a long ass time ago had like 10 or 15 steps for volume and you couldn't increase that number
            >There's some great ones you can get for 20 bucks
no idea if mine are good, but I think they're alright at least. KZ ZSN Pro, got them because a friend recommended them to me. the ones I'd want to get have been discontinued well over a decade ago and I'm sad I lost my pair long ago too

            Anonymous

If you're only utilizing the first two steps the problem clearly isn't the number of step but the overall gain. Set negative preamp in your system-wide EQ until your comfortable volume is at 50%, with headroom for quiet mixes.

            Anonymous

            >negative preamp in your system-wide EQ

          >Why did this have to die?
It was never a thing to begin with. They realized this is a bad thing because 1) it costs more to make, and 2) it doesn't make your phone similar to the iPhone like a notch or a hole, which is a negative from a marketing standpoint because Apple quite literally makes people believe whatever they sell is what they want.

Eh we're talking about a 5 year old phone, and I did use it and I did have some complaints (slippery glass back, huge chin bezel, curved screen corners, camera module you could dislodge just by running with the phone in your pocket). They did stabilize the camera module and add an OLED screen with the 7/8 Flip but those were bigger, pricier, and lost the headphone jack...
I wound up fricking up the charging port on it and moved to an xperia phone but gosh I wish Sony had Asus's software and features like swipeable side fingerprint sensor or having those smaller quick settings tiles from Android 9.

Because headphone jacks worked perfectly fine on phones before the yiddish corpos made changes to prevent people from having full control over spying via microphone. Remember that one guy who desoldered his phone's mics and removed the cameras as well as having a removable battery? He used an external microphone with the headphone jack so he could have full control over his phone, and the glowie israelites didn't like the goyim having full control. But of course, you're a zoomer redditor who makes slide threads, and works for the yids to install the israelite world order. And you do it for free.
