Not sure why pocket projection hasn't taken off to replace it. Light, compact, use anywhere etc. They could make a near-field version that sits up close to a screen and projects it on a rollout canvas. We'll get there one day I guess.

      >near-field
what does that mean? I already saw mp3 size projectors long ago, probably low quality though.

    Unironically CRT again.
After ww3 goes nuclear and the global technological industry is destroyed, old technology will return.

based understander. Peak technology will be a VCR/CRT combo plugged into a generator

most of the factories are dissembled, people who knew how to make them are dead or retired.
i don't see how is that possible ?

Its not that they will start making existing designs again but rather the entirety of technology will be thrown backwards and have to redevelop.

I tasted totally jailbroken GPT, bout a year ago, and it took me to the darkest depths of my soul. I literally ran out of fetishes over a couple week period. I felt like I was physically on drugs. It was a weird time.

Bring plasmas back. A single tear rolled down my cheek when the last Panasonic panel rolled off the line. X y or z LED still hasn't matched the price point of those last gen Made in Japan plasma panels. AMOLED has the same (or worse) burn in and blacks like plasma, but suffers from PenTile subpixel bullshit. QLED or whatever is still too fricking expensive.

Apples to oranges. HDR is a meme and most "HDR" LCDs barely fit the definition. Upscaled 4K (most things with 2K digital intermediates) is actual bullshit.
Contrast is king. Black levels above all else.

It's like saying there are no difference between natural sunlight and light bulb on your ceiling if both output same color temperature.

LCD's era will never end. CRTs were big and bulky, while LCDs are cheap and thin. What advantage does any other screen tech have over that? You can LARP about clarity or any other shit like that, but they'll all be the same physical size as an LCD screen except more expensive.

Will we EVER get our motion clarity back????

What do you even need motion clarity for? I can count on my fingers games where things are moving as fast as that UFO. Does it really matter?

        >960px/s
        >fast
        Dude lmao
It takes 2 whole seconds for it to get accross a 1920x1080 display.
Imagine if in a 3D game you'd be limited to moving only at that speed. It'll take ages for you to turn around.

But it does absolutely matter, every single game looks much clearer on a tube.
