How much of a reduction in market scale do you need to be perceived as not bearing it?

We have already seen companies change attitudes going form serving the general PC user to going all in on gaming. Perfectly understandable why as the general population has less and less use for a dedicated PC (and thus less people building them) and only gaymers seem to care about having a desktop.

Some of the price increases could be explained by reduced volume of manufacturing as just less people are buying. The social media bubbles people put themselves in makes it seem like PC things are more popular than ever but reality is different.

The point on the price isnt $1400-$1700. That $300 isn't the point I'm making. The point is that it's higher than inflation says it should be. It's price gouging.

Imagine buying a modern GPU in current year+8

I will never pay more than $200 for a GPU. That is what I have paid all my life, and I'm not paying more just because some dumb Black folk love to farm fake internet coins and do gay AI. I will just stop using a computer.

This is my point. Over $90 for a motherboard, over 150 for a high end cpu let alone a midrange one, over 200 for a gpu, over 50 for ram??? I hate glass cases. I hate rgb. It's over for pcs.

        >midrange
Stop buying parts based on what intel says is midrange by the product name, those homosexuals have hoodwinked you into thinking an i5 this year is the equivalent to an i5 ten years ago. They simply found more whales willing to buy in the i7 and above range. I bet the majority of home users would be just fine with an i3 and a motherboard lacking gay overclocking or overdone vrm heatsinks.
Buy 1-2 gens old and on sale, or better yet used.

The point on the price isnt $1400-$1700. That $300 isn't the point I'm making. The point is that it's higher than inflation says it should be. It's price gouging.

the thing is, gamers all around will only buy the low end $200 gpus and games will push to support them. All the fricking morons who buy 4070/4080s today won't have any games that support them. By the time things calm down, 5070/6070 etc, games will be pushing for those cards, and we will scoff at 40 series cards. It's the worst time to buy a GPU.

Hey OP, get a 3060ti and wait. Every game that comes out in the next few years you will be able to run at ultra in 4k just fine. I know old tech feels bad but its not going to hurt you right now. 14th gen intel/7000 ryzen CPUs are goat though. Get a z790 with wifi 7, and get an i3 for now, then get the i9 when you can afford it later. Get 16gb ddr5 for now, then 128gb when you can afford it. then by the time you have all that, get a 5080/5090 when they release in 2025.

Theres nothing worth playing past the ps2. Just emulate the best games, n64, gamecube, ps2... you don't need more than a 3060 ti or whatever the AMD equivalent is. Hardware manufacturers need to wake up. Charging these insane prices is only making them look bad. I'll just buy whatever $300 thing Nintendo releases and move on with my life.

They are charging a premium for 1080p gaming and you all eat it the frick up. No actual improvements have been made, but now they charge you like 5x the price for it.
