The Warren Cup, now in the British Museum, depicts sexual intimacy between a young man or a "pederast" – in the broadest sense – and his "catamite.”
Pederasty is a normal practice.

    Nah they're just wrestlers.

Why can't we admit though that some Poleis permitted homogay and others punished it with death?
Why, in the face of overwhelming knowledge, do people insist on treating "Ancient Greece" as a monolith?

      >inb4 this is Roman
Romans had a documented decline in morals where homogay slowly became more accepted.

Pederasty was openly mocked in Ancient Greece, was far from normalized everywhere in the country, and we have surviving political speeches in which orators used the sexual deviancy and lack of self-control inherent to pederasty as indictments against an opponents moral character. Laws were even passed in some city-states to explicitly forbid gays from preying on young boys in this way, which isn’t something that strikes me as “Normal Practice”.
Aka your a subhuman pedophile who will find no vindication in Greek history outside of outright deviants and cliques of gross gays

So there were lots of them?
Or else the open mockery and passage of laws would be redundant
Obviously Greece wasn't the gay paradise that gays want to believe, but you're not both arguing that there weren't homogays and that they hated homogays right? These have to go together
You have to have homogays present in society for people to hate homogays

Not trying to argue that there weren’t homogays, that’d be self-defeating and moronic.
Was more trying to get across the fact that pederasty was never seen as a “normal practice” or some kind of social institution, as the gay who wrote the OP would want to believe. The amount of homogays are 100% inflated by modern “historians” who just want historical justifications to frick children, but that by no means indicates they didn’t exist at all.
Greece was indeed absolutely not a gay paradise, and I suspect many modern “pride” homosexuals would find themselves on the other end of a speartip or lynch mob if they tried their shit in all but a small amount of times, places and circumstances in Ancient Greece.

          Fair enough.
I've just seen some people argue that "Greeks weren't gay" and they literally mean that there were zero homogays.

nah, all societies have fringe degenerates.
the "historians" the other anons talk about is basically the modern equivalent of going to san francisco and basing the rest of the usa on its deviancy.

100%, whenever you hear an “expert” say an ancient or far-removed society was totally open and tolerant towards “accepted” modern degeneracy, you instantly know they’re a historically illiterate fraud who is, at best, cherry-picking the historical record, or at worst, outright lying about it.

They weren't gay. They partook in homosexual proclivities, but they all married women, and some of their most revered deities of love and eroticism were women.

            >they just got a little sodomitic once in a while, totally normal
another of the lies sold about antiquity.
worse than this is the notion of the students under men being their catamites, which makes no sense at all.
why would a man with any respect give his child over for sodomy, and how could they in turn just go out into the world without that scar later?
it's insane to believe anyone consented to such an anti-human concept.
any sensible moral framework they could have held would be vehemently against such a disgrace.

Gay means you exclusively have sex with men. There is not one single recorded gay marriage in Ancient Greece. Cope and seethe.

            Sounds like coping and gaslighting.

            >Gay means you exclusively have sex with men
There is homosexual preference, and homosexual behavior. They are different things. No historian claims that ancient Greeks were mostly homosexuals, but they do make it pretty clear that homosexual behavior was relatively common for centuries in many of the ancient Greek city-states.

            >one certainly should not fail to observe that when male unites with female for procreation the pleasure experienced is held to be due to nature, but contrary to nature when male mates with male or female with female, and that those first guilty of such enormities [the Cretans] were impelled by their slavery to pleasure. And we all accuse the Cretans of concocting the story about Ganymede.

That's just your personal hangup. You could say the same thing about circumcision but modern westerners only feel that way about female circumcision.
You don't think it's strange you're more worried about how boys were being abused 1000s of years ago than they are right now?

I don't think you understand, the Symposium outright debunks the videos you linked, whether you take it literally or not. You do realize that the video you linked is claiming that homos were virtually nonexistent in Ancient Greece right?
