This. I get contacted by recruiters on linkedin, and half the time they say they'll "forward my profile".
It says the same shit as my CV anyway.

My current job is one where I either didn't even send a CV, or it was an afterthought after the company had already seen my profile anyway, I forget how it went exactly.

Not terrible but not great. Your summary is way too long. Literally nobody's gonna read anything beyond half a sentence. Just cut it down to a couple of short lines outlining your UVP. If you want buzzwords to get past the keyword scanners just throw them near the bottom where recruiters never look anyway. Move the mentorship bullet higher for your most recent job. Leadership experience becomes more important the more senior you get so prioritize it.

I've heard to do the opposite. You have to optimize your resume for ATS now, so very plain and simple resumes that are easy for a script to parse is ideal now.

These resumes won't get through ATS'es which can't parse them properly. Stick to a single column layout with obvious headings and body text, and no or at least minimal images.

Something that's easily read, understood, and desired by the algorithms 90% of these jobs use to recruit now. That's it. You are not making a resume for a person, you make it for the machine.

  33. 3 weeks ago

There's plenty of HR tools that scan PDF files and look for keywords. If your CV is full of images or other assets that they can't scan, it will be immediately discarded.
