Bachelor pad penthouse – Dickens Yard development

This project is a penthouse in the Dickens Yard development by St George in Ealing which is a new development of high end apartments in Ealing set around a feature courtyard with stunning water features.

The property is made up of three bedrooms, an open plan living/dining room and separate kitchen as well as a master bathroom and ensuites.

The open plan living room has floor to ceiling windows to two sides and a large terrace running the full length of the windows also. The property has views of Wembley and is the perfect bachelor pad.

My client a young business man bought the empty shell and wanted me to furnish the space as well as install a new music system and feature lighting. He wanted a sleek masculine space working with materials such as black leather and black lacquer as well as greys and marble finishes.

The master bedroom I designed as a luxurious high end hotel style space using feature wallpaper with inset crystals in steel tones as well as installing a cool floating bed which I under lit with LED light tape. Large mirrors and walls in neutral brown tones and dark oak veneered storage units finish off the room. Leading off the bedroom is the ensuite which is fitted out in chocolate marble tiles with a large walk in shower space.

The hallway is long and narrow and again the overall feel for the space is a high end hotel in a masculine style so I fitted beautiful brown and silver wallpaper in stripes to highlight the high ceilings and added a hotel style wall light with neutral warm shades.

The third bedroom I converted into a chill out audio visual room with a sofa, dark oak feature bookcase and large TV wall with floating unit. Feature LED lighting again allows for different moods within the room.

The open plan living and dining room has a dark oak floor and I've bespoke designed a TV wall in black lacquer with the TV inset in same. I've also designed a low level TV unit which fits into the wall and inset feature lighting at the top which changes colours to highlight the feature crystal wallpaper which is carried through from the bedroom.

The feature piece in the room is the stunning pool table which I sourced for the client with a burgundy and silver finish it's the ultimate boy's toy and it feels perfectly in this large open plan space.

A dark wenge dining table with black lacquered chairs sit to the end of the room and with two walls of full height windows opening onto a large roof terrace this is the perfect area for socialising which can then lead onto the balcony.

The kitchen has reflective white glass and white worktops with dark wenge wall low level units as well as a large wine fridge and beautiful large porcelain floor tiles.

Dark timber blinds and soft furnishings in plums and deep purples compliment the dark timber finishes overall and some splashes of colour are added in the purple painted feature column and wine feature walls.

Feature mirrors within dark timber frames and lavish crystal and silver wallpapers set the space off and when the sun shines the apartment is flooded with natural light and is the perfect entertainment zone for the client.
